It's designed to be slow- it's something you log onto for about 10 minutes a day or so. As for jobs, it's worth looking through the list in the magazine again- an unskilled character can get about $900 a week as a clerk or assistant (it's in the businesses' interest to attract employees with those sort of salaries, since even by being in the same city in a random place a player is 3 times more efficient than a random placeholder AI). Shopping I can help with- the VIP package comes with a shopping assistant, which allows me to see all the prices across the city for any given item at once, so just let me know what you want and I'll point you in the right direction. I can also get a loan for books/instruments, which is easy enough to pay off and should speed things up a bit. I realise this is very slow paced for a 'game', but it's a long term, gradual investment type game- can be quite rewarding in the end.

Jam sessions are good. Especially now we have our first song:

Fade's Requiem is a Heavy Metal Anthem.  The tempo is Allegro.  Written by Allan Bond and dated to 2008-07-20. The melody is terrible and the lyrics are dreadful.

i went through a phase once when I was absolutely addicted to "Yohoho! Puzzle Pirates", payed for it and all, then suddenly realised after losing approx. 3 months of my life "This game is totally retarded, why the hell am I playing this?"

*EXACTLY* the same thing happened to me. I was *totally* addicted for aages, then I wanted to be the captain so I bought a subscription, then played addictively for a few months then thought "this is a WASTE of time" and quit.
