Anyone doing the craftingstuff, this site here is a good database for all the recipes, especially useful when youre a chef since youre bombarded with ingredients. (Yeah disco I can make cookies woah)

Speaking of, the amount of stuff you can craft in this game is insane.

Also I cant even count the amount of times anymore that I was standing in a village and was just about to take off / teleport to another waypoint when suddenly the villagers got attacked or some other event started nearby. This game is tits.

So, I managed to get up to Level 17 over the course of the weekend.

Generally I think it's pretty good - there's nothing that has changed that substantially since the beta events that I really noticed?

Bugs wise - there seems to be a few bugs with the guild system at the moment, I couldn't accept a second guild invite for ages and it seems that the influence points / guild rewards are bugged/inconsistent at the moment (I wonder if maybe it has something to do with the server the guild players are on etc.). Not had any problems with the game crashing, lag or low-FPS.

I'm playing a Norn Engineer and you're very limited with weapons (pistol + shield, pistol + pistol, rifle) and I'm preferring the rifle at the moment as I love the whole jump-in , use close range skill and then jump out mechanic (5-3-4). I kinda feel like I should be able to get some more weapon skills as I'm pretty bored of the ones I have now. I guess though with the Engineer it's all about the tools/turrets etc. I've unlocked a couple of turrets but they don't seem to be that powerful?!? The flamethrower is awesome though.

I'm also a Chef - not actually done any crafting yet but I'm doing a good job of gathering raw materials from around the map

It hasn't really felt like that much of a grind - the events are pretty good and a pretty substantial amount of XP for a pretty short space of time (about 600XP for an event as opposed to 20 or so XP for a mob kill). They repeat really quickly so there's always something going on. The 'heartquests' are usually pretty interesting (a lot of variety in each quest and between them) and I like that you don't have to return back to the person unless you want their rewards. I struggled a bit around the end of the starting area (up to lvl 15) but a couple of events and I was high enough to move elsewhere.

The personal story thing is nice but I felt it would be nice if there were a side quest or two as sometimes you have to wait a few levels before you can progress with the main story. I had to get someone to help me complete one of the level 12 quests (even though I was level 14/15) as I just couldn't solo it.

I also like that there's a 'sell junk' (the useless drops from mobs) and a 'deposit all collectibles' (which you can use any time, any where) button.

Also, I find it hilarious that after I've died a few times and forgotten to get my shit repaired I end up walking around with no trousers on.

I found a bug which I guess I semi exploited. At the end of one of the story missions, you could talk to a character who gave you one of the ferocity, dignity, charisma option answers. However you could repeatedly ask her and alter your stats. Im now full on charisma (dunno if it makes any difference), was gonna try and balance it out with dignity, then the game crashed =|

Whipped up a Norn (I think?) Necromancer. Only major change I've noticed since the beta (in all of my 4 levels so far) is that when you move from an overflow you get put where you were, not at the start of the map, which was actually pretty high on my list of gripes, so s'cool.

Loginserver is down, was kinda expected, the game got released today, a huge swarm of people are now trying to get in again.

As for the guilds deadly, thats no serverspecific problem, the guildsystem is completely borked right now, same goes for the auction house. I really hope ArenaNet gets their shit together and fixes these essential features, my bank is exploding right now with stuff I wanna sell. But honestly, Im having so much fun with this game right now that Im willing to look past these flaws ...for now.

As for the tomes Deadly, I warned Blue Geezer fortunately before he used his, but yeah they are completely broken right now and people are advised to not consume them. If the 1k points dont show up in the next few days you might wanna contact support and get a refund on it.

I did however create a couple of XP banners for our guild this morning. If enough people are online we should all meet somewhere and Ill place them. Gives us 5% bonus on everything (not just kills)

Yeah, I know it's borked, but I wondered if maybe for some reason the guild stuff was just not synchronised between servers. Blue Geezer could see my Tome but I can't see any of the guild upgrades so I wondered if maybe the actions weren't being synchronised between the servers which would perhaps explain that?

It shows up for me in the guild log - but not for other people (some can see it) apparently. The reverse is the same for me for items bought for the guild etc. - anything building or upgrades for the guild don't show up for me.

Desolation was full when I started playing earlier so I started on Seafarer's Rest, but gonna transfer to Desolation as soon as the login system isn't overloaded (transfers are free atm)

From Level 50 onward theres a bunch of worldbosses mainly dragons that you need to fight with 30-40 people. They are all really well done and impressive (my favourite one is the Claw of Jormag), Skyrims dragonfights are nothing against that.

Right now Im just really happy that theres actually alot of endgamecontent. I hit 80 yesterday and it turns out the game doesnt really ant you to do PvP right away, theres still a ton of stuff to do. Basically you still level up after you hit the cap and you still get Skillpoints which you can hand in at the mystic forge for better gear so theres still a drive to keep doing events and stuff. Also all the 5man dungeons have a level 80 difficulty (there is like 7 of them) so those will be a challenge.

Im still having alot of fun with WorldvsWorld. I dont know if other servers do this, but our server has a very large group that meets up in teamspeak (its about 100-150 people) and does organized keepraids, it is so much fun to run around in an actually organized group in WvW and you actually get a huge chunk of XP if you keep being successful in it, theres also endgamegear you can grind for there, so theres also a drive to do that.

Structured PvP I didnt really come to yet, I tried it out abit yesterday with my Engineer alt.

Overall really impressed with this game. My concerns that this would be too focussed on PlayervsPlayer and would have no drive to keep going once you hit 80 and done all the storyquests turned out false, the endgamecontent in this comes very close to World of Warcrafts better days back in 2007/2008.

Woo - got to above level 30 now which is pretty cool.

The elite skills I've unlocked for engineer are pretty cool. The supply drop is awesome (drops a load of health kits and some turrets). Can't wait to unlock the mortar

Had a really good session with Dodgy the other night - pretty much completed an entire zone together which was a lot more fun that doing it solo - the plan next time is to go and explore some of the other race's starting area as Dodgy had already completed that one.

Still not got around to any WvW or PvP or dungeons yet. I did try and queue up for WvW but didn't manage to get in.

Mortars are so strong in WvW, if you set one up on a keepwall you can pretty much take down an entire zerg banging on your gate. Also the Elixir Gun and Flamethrower are ridiculous against a large group, you do so much damage and debuffing. Im raising up an Engineer now just for WorldvWorld and sPvP. Necros also a very useful class in those 2 modes, with the right build you can be a Condition dispenser and have the best supportive buffs.

The reason you dont get into WvW right now is because your server is beating our ass right now Deadly, Desolation seems to be full of PvP tryhards But all jokes aside, the demand for that gamemode right now is overwhelming the server capacities by a million times. On Elona Reach you usually have to queue up for 20-30 minutes to get in, on higher populated WvW servers like Riverside or Gandara (where Kungen and all his streamminions play) its over 2 hours average. Pretty insane, I hope they increase the limit soon.

Im right before the very last story mission but I cant really play atm because my internets shitty. Since Level 60 or so once youre done doing the stuff for your respective Order you chose early, shit gets real, lots of fights against dragons and undead hordes, dont wanna spoil too much, but its rather impressive for an MMO to deliver such an intense story. It does still get limited by itself since its just an MMO so dont expect a fancy presentation, it will always look like an MMO with hokey animations, but they obviously put alot of work in this, reminded me alot of the beginning part of Age of Conan (which that was the only good part about that shitty game lol).

We now have a guild vault (accessible at the guild registrar in your respective hometown). Its main use is to deposit crafting materials you dont really need anymore that others may do. If you want to temporarily store something there message me ingame so I can tell the others to not withdraw it for themselves.
