Anyone plan to play it following the update? I used to play it a fair bit a while back but uninstalled it to free up space, so I'm downloading it again now. In case you missed the announcement there's also going to be a free weekend.

I find its awesome with a good sized group of people you know but not so good by yourself.

Agreed, much better with friends.

Played for an hour or so earlier on my own, I completely sucked, as did my team as teamwork is apparently something other people should do. Also most of the servers are French. Which I wouldn't have a problem with so much if they would just shut up for 30 seconds...

This one reminds me of why I don't play CounterStrike. I wandered around for a bit and every so often you'll randomly get shot in the head. Pretty much as soon as you see somebody, they kill you instantly. You can tell who the new players are because they get into actual firefights, and then leave after two minutes of getting the crap kicked out of them. It took me another two minutes of going 'hmm, is that guy on my si...' before realising my teammates had little swastikas on their heads!

And then (somehow) I get to the objective, and it tells me I need another man. So I sit there for a few minutes, nobody comes, and it's ... great, really. Think I'll stick to TF2 Cheesy

Edit:Oh, I left my clan tags on while I played, so if any of you DoD fans get messages like 'hey, there's this awesome new WDG clan ripping it up on DoD today'... that was me.

Yeah, it needs teamwork. Though playing on a few public servers in TF2 has reminded me how lucky we are on our server to almost always have players that understand the "Team" bit in the name.

So yeah, basically what you guys said, squared.

Need a team that understands teamplay, getting used to recoil was a bit difficult at first but then actually fun.
I'm still gonna buy it since it's oh so cheap right now, maybe we can get a DoD team up and running some day. Grin

Oh and claws: Those are not swastikas. (Just to get your symbols sorted out so you don't make yourself ridiculous when talking about it.)

Yeah, I'd be up for playing some other games too.

I have quite a few I have collected over the years, but then only pretty much play one at a time (i.e. TF2 now) I did play a lot of CoD 4 until all my stats got reset...grrr!
