ultimate map chooser that lefty suggested looks very good. I've had a quick stab at an example config for it. This isn't exactly what I want it to do as I would prefer a non-popular map to be enforced periodically. However i'm sure most people will find this more palatable. What this does is offer 3 popular maps in the vote, and a disguised random map. It also blocks popular maps from being played again for 2 hours (per map mind so chances are you can just cycle through all 6 over and over if thats how the vote goes). I started a group for maps that come up for when the server is low pop but need to find out some more options before that does anything in the config.

I don't see how suggesting a list would help when it's pretty much down to the admins to decide whether to install the plugin in the first place! Also, we're treading a dangerous game speculating what maps should be allows and shouldn't be.

the map list is just my opinion i don't expect deadly to use it without heavy editing.

The advantage to my example config is most of the time it gives the popular vote what they want while at the same time offering me more choice because theres not just 1 popular map autowinning I can pick between 3. The other thing it does is cement the we don't want the same 6 maps vote into a single option. The random list can be trimmed down somewhat and you need to understand that picking that option will give you something random that you might not even like but its intended as a way to cement the something else please option. If the map is totally dire an admin could then swap it to something else on the random list, or tiered voting could be setup so the something else option triggers a second vote on exactly what do you want instead vote?

lefty don't try to start that argument up. I think plenty of maps you think are good are in fact terrible shit. Map choice is personal preference and while I appreciate the popular maps keep more people happy, the fact that they get overplayed makes them stale. If enough rare maps get played on a very occasional basis we should all get to play a few maps we rarely see and the popular maps will seem all the fresher.

You suggested a good map plugin, I suggested a fair config lets keep this thread there. If you want to start an X map is shit thread take it to another thread.
