I have had reports, indirectly, that there have been occasions when public players / regs are unable to connect to the server when it shows 26/27 on the server info.

I have investigated the server config and cannot see anything that might cause it - so if anyone has any problems can they please report them here, giving as much information as possible.

Just a heads up on how our server slots are configured.
Server maxplayers: 28
Reserved slots: 1, hidden by sourcemod to bring the number of maxplayers to 27.
Replay: 1 slot is used by the replay bot - there is no option AFAIK to configure whether this slot is hidden or not.
Total number of players possible on the server: 26

Well there is the option -replay but I doubt that'll help here?!

people are having problems joining because auto-join is simply not displayed unless a server returns that it is full. A server at 27/27 will enable the auto-join option on a client. At 26/27 it just displays the connect option which is then refused because the final slot is either the replay slot or the reserve.

Its probably valves fault because they made replay add an extra server slot but not actually fill it or preferably just hide it

Well, this is what's confusing us. The replay bot *does* appear to use a slot from within game and HLSW. So at 26/27 the game should have 25 players and a bot in it, and you should be able to join.

I suppose it could be possible that the replay bot is displayed on the server but hidden from the player count, although I do not think this is the case. If it were, when connecting at 26/27 you should be seeing an error message directly referring to the reserve slot if you cannot connect. Does this happen?

EDIT: It could also be the case that the server is swapping between whether it hides the reserve slot or the replay bot, causing the confusion.

seems to be a misconfiguration of the reserved slot. the Replay slot is fully taken by the replay system. I setup a server recently with replays. it was a pain to get it right. I had a similar problem and found that I had set the reserved slot system badly.

Also, Thought of using sourcebans to handle your bans and admins/donators? After having a play around with it, it really is amazingly well featured and really takes the stress out of admining a community server

I get this all the time, particularly the random swapping between the server showing full at 27/27 and then 26/27, but getting the reserved slot error message (which only comes up after the client info is sent at the end of the joining process). Makes it really frustrating trying to join as you can't sit on autojoin until a slot comes up. When I finaly get in I usually find your slot reservation system chooses me to be kicked to let someone else on. I think it hates me.

I'm quite regular and I've never experienced it... how weird
