Anyone who's using Spotify any more than that should consider subscribing to it anyway.

Interesting. I'm all paid up on Premium (worth it for the mobile version alone), so no effect on me, but seems pretty harsh if you're trying to use the free version as your regular music player rather than using it as a 'try before you buy' device. Probably best just to make a new email address just for Spotify and ride the six months while it lasts, I guess.

I use Spotify as my main music player and since I generally listen to songs I have in a custom playlist I think I'll probably hit the limits quite easily. So I might just subscribe to premium.

I will consider subscribing to Unlimited, but I don't have a mobile for which Premium would be worth it.

I had premium while I was at Uni because I used to use it on my phone quite a lot - which I don't do at all anymore so recently downgraded to unlimited.
The main difference I think is that you can use spotify on your phone if you have premium and you also get to use offline playlists (so you can listen to favourite songs if you're not connected to the internet) which you don't get if you have unlimited.

Why? If I have to listen to adverts then surely I am paying ?

Why? If I have to listen to adverts then surely I am paying ? The adverts don't make enough money, they still lose money on the free service at present to quite a significant degree.

The bandwidth you use probably costs more than they make from the adverts you see.

i pay premium with my mobile which by itself is worth it however i must say i was going to subsribe before that due to the fact that this is how i want the music industry to go. i dont want this whole piracy shit (with buying tracks) i want a subscription service that gives me value for money which i believe this does.
