Because I have not, but I have an idea for a GUI-mod which could be an interesting addition.

I had this idea a few weeks ago, but just yesterday a game confirmed that this idea could be helpful.
The game I'm talking about was Dustbowl where we got spanked not necessarily because skill was so terrible uneven, but because we made some terrible decisions in the class layout. I don't even think that stupidity was the reason for that, but rather a lack of awareness. And that's where my idea comes in.

A purely informational mod which tracks the use of classes and - based on a customizable config - displays relevant information either be choice (pressing a key) or - customizable again - by situations (message pops up).
This could announce - e.g. - the lack of a medic, the over-presence of single classes, perhaps even different messages for different maps and teams (O/D). (My concept so far is a bit more detailed already)

I have no idea what information a mod can extract from the event tables, but I don't think this would be a hard thing to do.
Would anybody be interested in discussing such a project and perhaps tackling it, if it appears feasible?

Again: Exclusively informational and as customizable as possible. Not patronizing or restricting players, merely increasing awareness about the composition of the own team.

Like the idea of "CLASS OVERLOAD!!!!" messages Grin

Would be shown when you spawn so you can change with immediate effect (if you wanted to of course!)

That can be done through admin-like ones that already exist. The stuff is all tracked through basic server log events - such as "so and so spawns as sniper"

Actually it would not be an opinion, but an information. An information given with an intention, true, but still nothing more than that. Just like saying "There's a enemy Heavy/Medic on the point". If people act on this information is up to them. But having the information creates awareness and the chance to act on it, while not having the information puts them in a disadvantage.
Unlikely to work: I don't know. I see such things happen on the WDG servers quite often (and our level of awareness is clearly above average) and I think people like us would be acting on such informations.

However, my worry would be the people most willing to run it are the ones least likely to need it.
Well, I would rather put it the other way around :-) Still, the prospect of making something like that attractive enough for admins to use it might be in a reciprocal ratio to the effort in creating it  Grin

Beetlesmod already does this of sorts with class limits. 

Might be worth asking on beetlesmod forum for the class limit message to show current class number when you select it, without acutally limiting the classes.... if you get what i mean.

Which is what the game already shows when you choose a class, from the menu. Anyone not using the menu can use the same scripting to show how many of that class there are Smiley

I still think it's bad to spam information at people. I don't get it myself.
