Firstly, I wasn't expecting much from the first game due to the film being total dogshit, but was actually really really supprised. Good gun play combined with good stealth sequences, cool robot sections and stabbing people in the kidneys with screwdrivers made it an instant classic in my eyes.  And now there is a sequel......ish (dun dun duhhhhhhhh). The new one, Assault on Dark Athena, is a remake of Butcher Bay AND a new single player campaign AND comes with multiplayer (not a massive point, but BB didn't have any kind of multiplayer at all, so a step in the right direction at least). One of the things I'm looking forward to most about it is the "Pitch Black" mulitplayer mode. 1 vs 6, Riddick (with blades and night vision) against space marines (with guns and flashlight) in a fight to the death.

Pre-order it. It'll be worth it. Have I ever lied to you?

Yeah, first one was a bit of an unsung classic. If a bit weird at the beginning.

Worth waiting for the new one Sam, comes with a remake of the old one. But definatly worth playing.

Ok, after months of waiting with baited breath this came on Friday and I have to say I was massivly disapointed. Eratic AI meant that I only played about an hours worth; aparently if you walk around in "sneak" mode you are totally invisible and can walk right up to enemies and stab them in the face but as soon as you come out of sneak mode, every enemy in the room knows exactly where you are and will hunt you down even if you hide and go back into sneak mode. Not fun!
The redeaming things so far are the dual "Ulak" blades you get and some of the stealth kills are totally and horrifically over the top; stabbing someone in the back on the head with one and the cutting their throat with the other blade is the one that stuck in my mind! Also, using dead guys guns is pretty fun. I'll post a bit more once I've got up the courage/patience to try it again. I will definatly keep playing because its more then likely I haven't given it the time it deserves but initial impressions aren't good .

Also, as this comes with BB I'm looking to get rid of my copy of BB (only really want money to cover P&P). PM me if you're interested, its a great game and well worth checking out if you haven't played it.

Always sad when the sequel can't compete with the original ... Deus Ex comes to mind! The original was the best game I've played whilst the follow up was distinctly average

Will try the original Riddick though - sounds good!

I feel your Deus Ex pain John, I loved that game, and the sequal was no where near as good (although I still played it for a long time, for old times sake). On the good side, I hear they've "un-killed" the series and are working on a new one, which plans to be more true to the original.

Excellent - Deus Ex was strange in that everyone who played it loved it (me too), but not allot of people actually bought the game! Main thing was the plot... really good it was and the freedom to try different things each mission.

I've had Deus Ex for about 3 years and never got past the tutorial. Its on my list of epic games I need to play that I'll probably never get around to playing along with all 3 Thief games and Fallout 1&2.

I did play Invisible Wars though and thought it was ok for a cheapy cheapy Steam thing, but wasn't massivly impressed and got bored before I could finish it.
