But out of curiosity: Why?

General lack of time?
Lack of discipline?
Dislike in the constant pressure to proof yourselves?
No interest in the attitide and conduct of a lot of other clans you would be forced to play against?
Fear that success would spoil you and turn you into arrogant jerks?

The quickest way to answer this would be to give you access to a recent thread in the clan only section, but failing that.

It's good to play a game just for fun.
That keeps the FUN in it.

In my clan we made the experience that if you have to train 2 times a week and play wars its just annoying.
If you don't train enough you are too bad to play against good enemies. <- lose=frustration

Most of the people don't have the time to play everyday.
In the end there is just trouble, because if you take it too serious you will always criticize your mates and no one wants to play the game anymore.

We had very good players in our squad but in the end we decided to quit the war-thing.

It was a good decision.

What Ringle said, pretty much covers it. Through bad experiences from our old (css) clan, John and I decided that it was highly unlikely that we ever go in this direction with WDG.

You should make your own league. £5 per person to enter, 9 man teams. Have matches like "all engie" or "all scout" and also have faillanders and highlanders.

Would be Epic.

I think marks hit the nail on the head; the point taken from the other thread was that it was too labour intensive for the people organizing and for the people involved. Also, league play? Really? I much prefer the odd one off and the regular session (frag fest) that get held then have any kind of on going contest. If that's your bag, enter the gasman challenge and try and get to the number 1 spot in the stats! If you had a proper organized match every week it'd get boring; as it is we have high/failanders/clan vs regs matches every now and then which make them more special and more enjoyable.

Receiving mails, making sure you have a reliable way people can pay and get payed, making sure we get paid before deadlines, keeping up on who has payed and who hasn't.

And there might be more stuff I haven't thought of..
