As has been hinted at in other threads recently, long before last weeks debacle kicked off, it was proposed that WDG would become less of a 'TF2 clan' and more of a gaming community, with more focus on playing games together with friends and less on our public TF2 server.
But why, O' Great Deadly?It should be fairly obvious to most that for most of the clan members, regs and the community that we're not playing TF2 as much - updates have become somewhat tiresome and the server tends to only fill up for frag fests on a Friday. That's not a criticism or anything - it's the natural course as the game gets older.
It's also noted that there a wide number of other games that are popular within the community (e.g. League of Legends, World of Tanks, Minecraft, soon to be Battlefield 3 and others...) and at the moment this tends to be fairly limited to a single thread in the 'other games' section.
Rather than carry on as we are and try to pump more effort into TF2, we thought it would be better to embrace the wider community and the other games that we're playing together.
Thoughts so far- Well we've opened up our mumble server to the whole community to get people chatting
- Have a 'server suggestion' board to allow people to propose new game servers to trial for the community if they have sufficient support and pending appropriate funds (or subsidisation)
- Create further boards, similar to the Team Fortress 2 board but for the discussion of other popular games (e.g. Minecraft/BF3 etc.), again, probably by vote.
- We've opened up recruitment and intend to remove the traditional member limit of around 30 (although that isn't going to be a problem for a while

)
- Resurrection of the 'games what I want people to play with me' to update it more frequently etc. - this could include events such as other game nights etc.
- Maybe some kind of 'game moderator' for each popular game as a point of contact for each game/server etc.
- We brought back the monthly themed frag fests to bring us all back together for a night of fun TF2
So I open it up to you, community - what do you want to see? What do you think of the shift in focus, proposed changes?
The clan members have spoken and have agreed with the idea, but we want to see what the community has to say on the matter as well (If nothing else than to restore faith that we *do* in fact value your opinions and contributions to the community.)
