Had to learn a bit about the amish community when I was studying genetic diseases. Ellis-van Creveld syndrome, kinda makes them have additional fingers or toes every now and then as a result of the "founder effect" i.e. some dude in the original amish community had this, so now it's fairly common in the ancestors...freaking amish
