All these new weapons seem to be taking away from the point of an uber...a short period of invulnerability (that takes aaages to build up) but seems that with each update, seems like each class is getting something against it.

pyro: air blast to blow away ubers
scout: whatever-it's-called to stun ubers
demo: can blow them apart
heavy: is fat so can block players

and on other notes...
never used the backburner much - airblast is too useful.

and the shotgun sometimes, or more likely the flare gun (so i can then axtinguish them)

TBH, I think that's exactly what the game needs at this point. It has to be done very carefully, since a über is still an important part of the game, but this might shake up a few established tactics.

I use that loadout too, I rarely change it since I rarely play pyro other then to have some fun blowing people around or axing them to death

Yeah, my pyro stats are pathetic I can tell you that much

I use the same weapons as the Hawk, the only one I would occasionally change would be the shotty for the flare.

Anyway, as Hawk knows, I'd normally use the same as him.
Am thinking trying the flare some more, has greater insta-damage at long range than the shot gun. The flamer is the close range weapon so why use the shotgun when it's beaten at range.

Well, it's a long time ago but the Gasman actually got the flare gun and backburner in open play? Don't play it often but I do enjoy the skill involved in a long distance hit with the flare gun.

But I'm with the poster who talked about managing melee with primary weapons: I'm so wired in to shotgun or wrench that when I play another class I really, really struggle to find the bottle (Demo) or shotgun (soldier).
