After seeing
Failander and
Return of the Failander, I've felt that we as a community should come up with different game ideas, from the subtle to the insane.
Here's some I've come up with.
Primary PredatorsThe game is played as usual, but
at no point can a player use the secondary fire. This can cripple some classes. A full list of limitations are:
-Pyros cannot use their compression blast.
-Demomen cannot use their sticky bombs.
-Heavies cannot wind-up their minigun.
-Engineers cannot rotate their buildings (lol).
-Medics cannot use Ubercharges.
-Snipers cannot use their scopes.
-Spies cannot use their cloaks.
As you can see, the Scout and Soldier are unaffected and the Heavy, Engineer and (to an extent) Pyro are not limited too much. However, Demomen and Snipers will find their weapons useless and the Medic and Spy have their abilities completely removed.
It's interesting to see players play their classes while battling a limitation and it's quite fun in practice. However, Engineers too get way overpowered in this (no stickies or ubers to get those pesky sentries), so putting limits on classes is advised.
Shield and SwordThis game is played on offense/defense maps ordinarily, but
BLU cannot use offense classes and RED cannot use defense classes. The offense are without Scouts, Soldiers and Pyros while the defense are without Demomen, Heavies and Engineers. It is hilarious seeing Engineers on the attack while Scouts try to guard the point.
Shield and Sword XtremeSame as above, but
support classes cannot be used either. This means each team has only three classes to use, meaning more hilarious vice-versa faceoffs.
Class ActSimple premise; nine versus nine game where
there must be one of each class and only one of each class. That's easy to get right? Right.
That's all I got. Like 'Shield and Sword' the most, but whatever. YOUR IDEA NOW.
