So here goes...
Building a new rig for myself and eventually selling my old one

Heres what I was thinking

Motherboard - Asus Rampage Extreme X48 DDR3 Motherboard
Processor - Intel Q9650 Quad Core, 3.0Ghz 1333FSB 9x Multiplier
Memory - 4x2GB OCZ DDR3 1600Mhz XMP Edition
Graphics - 2x PowerColor HD4870X2
Sound Card - Creative Soundblaster X-Fi Titanium - Fatal1ty Champion Series
Boot HDDs - 2x WD Velociraptor 300GB Raid 0
Backup HDDs - 2x WD Caviar Black 1TB no Raid
Optical Drive - LG Blu-Ray Writer
Second Optical Drive - LG DVD Writer
PSU - Undecided
Case - Undecided

Going to watercool it all
CPU - EK CPU Supreme Clear Top
NB - Asus Stock NB Block
GPU - 2x EK 4870X2 Clear Top
Rads - 1x240mm TFC Xchanger + 1x360mm TFC Xchanger
Pump - Switech Laing D5 Vario
Res - Single Bay
All with 3/8" tubing and connectors!
Pump>CPU>NB>240Rad>GPU>GPU>360Rad>RES>Pump

Will Probably swap out all the stock fans too, I want the inside to glow red rather than blue or multicolour

Any suggestions for changes/Improvements?
Any ideas for the Case/PSU?
Anything I missed?

I am confident with my dremmel and will most likely perform a few mods to the case....

Should be starting next week or maybe the week after

I want the rig to look awsome... Black/Red colour scheme, Some red Cathodes/LED Fans ect
I want the water rig to be as internal as possible without compromising airflow...

I think you're probably working in a different realm than most of us ... I was quite pleased with my computer 'cos it has *two* cores! I like the minimal, no-lighting-neon-etc cases too, so I'd probably be no help at all Smiley

I can say safly, with hand on heart, that your knowledge far out stips mine. I tend to do a lot of reading up prior to an upgread, choose last seasons stock, put it together and then leave it be untill I have to absolutly upgread. I'm curently sitting on Fade's old parts, but untill I can raise a couple of hundered quid, they will continue to goad me from the corner of the room. Currently getting 11 fps in TF2. Less if things get exciting. Grrr!

Astetic wise, I think the black with red glow look will look very menasing. A word of warning though. It may turn into that awful design style from the 90s of "Black, red & chrome". Please for the love of Satans furry bum-hole, do not go down that root.

How about brushed aluminum finish case? Or may be getting a stock case and going to halfords and getting a couple of cans of primer and some paint? Getting silly, chrome ilusion paint comes in at about a £1,000 a litre Smiley

Its gonna BLOW MY HEAD OFF!!!
should get a stable 4Ghz+ outa the CPU... might get some 1800Mhz ram or just OC the XMP ram...
Or I may wait for the nahelem chips Cheesy those things are gonna be total next generation!
Id get a skulltrail Mobo if it was DDR3

I looked at the Corsair PSUs and none of them are CrossfireX Certified for the 4870x2 cards...
I was hoping for a thermaltake toughpower 1200W but I cant find them for sale in the UK
