Would you play Far Cry 2?
I think the game will be awesom.

But the system requirements too...

Now my question for some of your experts...

I think I would buy an ati 4850 before getting this game.
And maybe 2 gig ram more.
Do you think that my cpu (intel c2d 6420) will slow down the system?

I do not think that I will play it, mostly because I have a crap computer (really...) and I also need a game with some kind of debt and it sounds like it's going to be more like "LOOK FIRER!...but do not look at our crappy storyline"

Yes, that CPU will not be good enough to enjoy your 4850 at full power.

Apparently it's got editors choice in the next PC-Gamer, 94% - looks good

Bear in mind that it won't be like the original FarCry, it's being done by different developers and is set in african savanna.

I've been playing this game for about 6 hours (almost solidly). And I've enjoyed it so far, it has started to get a little repetitive, but hopefully something new will happen.

There's a lot wrong with it, but I'm enjoying it all the same.

Is this the game with weapon degrigation?

Yeah, your weapons rust away and jam. It's not really a problem with your own weapons, but if you take one from an enemy it sometimes stalls when you need it.

I'm yet to have a jam.

But I don't use enemy weapons (except one time, in the fishing village, when I ran out of ammo, so grabbed a rusty shotgun, still didn't jam).

I got bored with it, respawning enemies and constant travelling between missions at the other end of the map is /snore.

I don't think you can have multiple missions either to try make things efficient, i tried it and it seemed to drop the mission i was currently on, no warning or anything. Meaning i had to travel all the way back to my original quest guy, 20mins of clearing out the checkpoints along the way, reaccept the mission, another 30 mins driving and clearing out checkpoints again, do the mission, then another 30mins driving and clearing to get you reward.

The checkpoints should be more challenging, and not respawn (atm best(quickest) way to clear them is just drive to the edge of the camp, switch seats to the mounted machine gun and blast away. they won't use RPG's or grenades against you and it's like fish in a barrel. once done, leave the car, heal back up to max hp with the conveniently placed kit (theres one in every checkpoint) and grab a fresh jeep (theres at least one in every checkpoint).)

Easy and Boring. The AI is pretty stupid.
