I HATED crysis online so don't think ill try it.  More interested in the single player.

Played it for about 15 mins so far, looks great, and runs pretty smooth on max settings.
Right now I'm optimising some stuff, defragmenting and so on,
so that these small hiccups disappear.

I have crysis, i'm not a massive fan because i keep getting pwned by helicopters - is this worth getting?

note: if you say yes - i expect someone to play it online with me

I'm so glad I'm not the only one!! I got the bundle deal this weekend and after 24hours (!!) of solid downloading spent the first 3 hours of game time getting savaged by a dingy mounted mini-gun. Great game although I think that I'll probably leave TF2 as my guilty online pleasure as I can't see how this can transfer to multiplayer.

Same, much more fun. Nothing beats sneaking up of someone and giving them a shotgun shell to the spine! I tried the strength thing but just got shot or ended up grabbing people by the throat and walking around with them for a bit!

They should make definitely make that a part of the next Crysis, where you have to carry a little pet Korean guy around by the throat for the whole thing. I always think  'ok great...what am I supposed to do with you?'

Also, I wish I started with a sniper rifle. I liked the game until the aliens came in, but the aliens are no fun at all

Yeah the aliens are annoying, I loved the bit before jumping on the sub.  Spent ages killing every dirty Korean I could find in the dock.

In Crysis I do (not got the new ones, DRM and all), use it when sniping to reduce recoil. Use it in close combat (duh), use it to jump over compound fences to get behind the enemies.


When combined with cloak it's an excellent way to conserve ammo (jump over wall, cloak, then punch them all!).

Very good for collapsing buildings too (strength-punch a supporting column).

I played 10 mins of first crysis and got bored..... Agree with chaos it looks good but is pretty boring.

Maybe Ill give it another go.... then again.... lol

First of all, gfx/stability wise UE3 games beat the hell out of Crysis. I'm  huge Tim Sweeney fan, because his coding skills are among the best in the gaming world.

I tried Crysis and bored me to no end, but then I realized I never finished any shooter in my life, save for Undying, but that was a great game noone played. Shooters are for multiplayer, the AI is simply too primitive in the lot of them ... the only exception being FEAR, the only game with decent AI.
