LOL nice specs I did get mine to 3Ghz but fan was far too loud (its one of the first revisions that runs HOT ) so changed the fan to a quieter one I never bothered OCing RAM I got bored of messing with it lol n just wanted to play What cooling you got on CPU? Thing is (to everyone) your monitor can only usually display at 60hz and your eyes only register up to 60hz Im led to believe... so as long as your fps is over 60fps its as smooth as its gonna get

I reckon its because his PC has already computed the likely outcome (death) before he leaves spawn

Thx for the info guys. I have a dual cpu at 3.2 (which i nervously clocked) 2 gig of 1066 memory and a Geforce 8800gt amp edition. I decided not to update my motherboard (which is Gigabyte) as i have had BAD experiences in the past with this. But after all i'm certainly no computer wizard! More of a computer butcher! I very rarely notice bad framerate in TF2 but i must say i do see it drop every now and then when there's shit loads going on. This is why a wondered if updating the motherboard would help.... I did read that TF2 is more cpu based so this is why i clocked my cpu. Out of interest could anyone tell me what graphic options they use in TF2? i.e bloom etc...

1280 x 1024 Everthing on except vertical sync. Rock bottom I get 70fps, usually around the 140 fps mark on average. Q6600 oc'd to 3.3 Ghz, 2Gb PC8500, 8800GT @ stock.

I've got a fairly similar rig to Dodgy (8800GTX though), running 1650xthingy, and I get moments of bad fps too. Never quite sure if it's the system or lag on the server though, it's mostly very good.

Most monitors these days are at 70Hz. The human eye has not been accurately tested, but can probably see in excess of 220FPS(hence 100hz TVs) consciously, and even more subconsciously. The reason that you can't normally tell the difference is due to motion blue (hence why most movies only play at 18-30 FPS).
