I'm pretty new to BF multiplayer (never really got much chance to play 2142 on emptyish servers with high ping) and one thing that I'm not sure about is how do you know which objectives your team is prioritising.

On Rush maps so far, it's not so bad as you've got a 1 in 2 chance of turning up at the right one.

In Conquest, however, it's 1 in 5. Currently I'm heading for neutral ones next to captured flags or ones that are flashing though I have gone to enemy flags if they're close for a look around. It's hard to tell from the radar where most of your team are.

It's not so bad at the start of course, you just follow everyone else.

If your squad leader (the person with the star) presses Q on the objective it gets short lines that perpendicularly bisect the straight edges of the objective square.

Oh right. I'll look out for that if it happens.

I think most of the squads I've been in have been random, as far as I could tell anyway. Is there any way of knowing outside your squad? Or is it just run around and hope for the best?

If it is, I'll just keep on doing that!

(and of course there's how does the squad leader know which one to go for?)

Yeah - they are squad based orders etc. so they only apply to your squad. I guess you can call for backup or use team chat to request more support?

J - chat all
K - chat team
L - chat squad

Also - spam Q on enemies lots to spot them, even if you can't shoot at or kill them. Gives you points if someone else finishes them off! Cheesy
