Day tickets have been released at £20 a pop. However the train prices are a bit screwball. It would cost me £25 to get there (on an advance ticket) but there's no return advance tickets so it would cost £75 to get back to my lowly dwelling.

That sounds weird even by UK railway standards :/

I decided I'm going to skip i52. I can't get any information from them in any real manner just a vague "yea, we have stuff" type of thing which makes me a bit sketchy and there is a local con going on in Leicester like a week after, so I'm going to give that a try instead since I'm going mostly for tabletop gaming, it's about the same thing but a bit easier trip.

Not sure if any of the attendees are keeping up with what's planned for i52. It's not long now. Apart from gaming (of course ) on Friday they've a DJ set from Zane Lowe who I think I've seen fronting various music shows on the tv. I think I quite like him Anyhow looks like we'll have the opportunity to throw some shapes on the dance floor if that's our sort of thing. Saturday is the pub quiz but if you want to be in the main hall you need to buy tickets in advance and they only come in blocks of 10. Otherwise there is a separate hall with a video feed. Sunday is the TF2 final (yay!) plus in the evening there's a big Riot party thing for League of Legends with various Riot employees there. With luck, as the main LoL players going, we might be able to flirt (Deadly) or bully (me) them into giving us some freebies!

Hi everyone. I'm one of the people going to i52 with CruelCow. This is a bit of a shot in the dark but: The person I was going to borrow a monitor from couldn't make it last minute, so I'm screenless for the moment (well, not quite, I'm going to bring a laptop but it's a bit uncomfortable). If any of you people going to i52 have a monitor you could spare, I would be very grateful. Of course there would be either a few beers or negotiable rent in it for you.
In any case, I'm looking forward to meeting you there and having a fun time. Cheers, peace.

Speaking of transport. Is Lefty still the best to bother quiz about public transport?

Ricoh Arena? Nearest train station is Coventry rail station - 6 miles from the venue. Regular services from Birmingham International (it's 10-20 minutes, varying between express and local stopping services, from B' International to Cov) - Operators in order of pace are Virgin West Coast ("Virgin Pendonlino/Voyager" usually travelling towards London Euston), CrossCounty (Travelling towards Bournemouth, etc) and London Midland (Travelling towards London Euston). EDIT: On the way back to Birmingham International you're looking for Virgin West Coast to Birmingham New Street/Crewe/Preston, Crossounty to Manchester Piccadilly and London Midland to either Crewe or Birmingham New Street.

Hi guys, I'm back from Texas now so just catching up on things. I've just checked the seat picker again and I've put us on the lower-ground floor. There's a line of 6 of us on one row and one seat on their own on the row behind. I'm going to put in some seat requests to move people around a bit to try and get us together or at least to make sure no-one is sat on their own. I have a spare monitor I can bring - 22" Samsung 1680x1050. No rent needed - but beer is always appreciated

Cruel - speak to me and let me know when you're arriving as I might be able to help out with the transport - depending on when you arrive I should be able to at least pick you up from the train station.
