Nothing special from what I've played of it, and plenty of stuff they need to fix before release. Not quite sure why those two are so adamantly opposed to it though, have they pulled an AoC and everything past the starting areas is practically empty or something?

Its just awful. It tries so hard to be Skyrim 2 but all that falls flat since its an MMO. They try to make everything about the world and what you do seem "epic" but theres only so much you can do when theres a thousand other people running around as the "chosen one". Hulinut, its not even an Age of Conan situation, the game is just empty and awful from the start, only quest relevant characters have meaningful dialogue and even that is cringeworthy.

Granted I have not gotten to the PvP aspect, it looks very much like its trying to copy Guild Wars' WorldvWorld system, whatever.

Just play Skyrim and if you want to get into an MMO, play WoW when Lords of Draenor comes out later this year or just get Guild Wars 2 if you dont care about shit endgame. This is just a mess. Also I dont know how they want to survive on a 14 Dollar per month subscription model with full price purchase in this time.

Of all the weird decisions with this game, this is the weirdest. It's like they've looked at the last 5 years of MMO trends (game releases with subscription, game dies horribly, game switches to F2P in an attempt to salvage some of the development cost) and decided that just because it happened to Rift, SW:TOR, TERA, and even WoW to some extent, that their game is going to be so good and so popular that they can get away with it. I give it 6 months from release before they make some excuse about 'opening basic access to more players' and flip the money switch.

its a very "nice" looking game but thats the only good point i personally found about it, combat seems very clunky and the quest system is more clockwork. definately not worth the £8.99 a month subscription good as a f2p tho

Maybe they're aware that they'll have to switch and hope to get the best of both worlds?

Yeah would probably be best as free2play, I would try it out if it switched over. But right now everything its trying to do to "evolve" the MMO genre, Guild Wars 2 does better.

Which starting zone did you do? Daggerfall Covenant one had plenty to do (Albeit nothing special, as I said before :p) and only a few chars at the crafting area voiced by SAM.
As for paying for it, yeah I don't think it's worth money either, which is why I'm playing what I can of it now during beta
