Again, thoughts, comments suggestions.

Any feedback on games played? Anything that could be done differently? Popular games, less popular games? Should we do anything about games that have a core of support but never quite seem to  'make it', Tribes Ascend, I'm looking at you.

Quake live had a nice blast-from-the-past ring to it, maybe that's a direction we could be taking this? Anyone up for Unreal Tournament (GOTY Edition?)

I think Sunday went pretty well all things considered. We had enough people to have some decent team games, so that was pretty good. Getting Curbstomped by random non-newbie players joining our match, not so much.

UT....is that f2p?

There also seems to be UT 2003, UT 2004 and UT3. Is the GOTY edition different? That looks to be £6.00 on Steam.

I think UT is definately a goer...is it the sort of thing that might go on special offer on Steam? I like the idea of a bit of a retro-vibe.

Why not mmos. There are plenty of f2p ones about now.

In some way a mmo would be easier to run than some games...no worries about finding a server, people could come and go, group size not important.

The fact that we'd only be dipping in for perhaps a couple of hours could be an issue, but maybe not especially if there were people who knew the game. MMOs are also large...LOTRO is a 13GB install.

Yeah - I don't think MMOs are particularly suitable due to the amount of time required to get started - they're generally games that require a big time investment and it's very difficult to new players to get stuck straight in with most of them (long tutorial stories/quests etc.) and quite a long time before you can party up and do interesting things.

UT is £6 on steam and can probably be picked up cheaper elsewhere if you don't already have a copy.

Considering it was released two years ago, I'd say yes. Will give it a whirl, just to be sure. The reason it looks old is that it's based on C&C Renegade's (2002) engine.
