It is just bosses + new game+. Wish they finished off the canada hub. Theres no reason not to really? The game is quite modular itself.

Theres more. Graphical updates, 8 hour dev commentary track that can be found in the game world like in Valvegames, you can leave notes for other players Dark Souls style and you can use your smartphone/tablet/vita as a second screen to do hacking and inventorysorting with touch controls. I havent played it yet obviously Ive just seen videos but Id say if you really liked the main game and havent played it since release, it is a good pickup especially at the discounted price.

If youve never played HR, just go for the directors cut aswell, its got all the DLC and Missing Link is now integrated into the game instead of being its own executable, so they wont just assume how many aug points you have anymore.

Just got to the first boss fight in the new version. Wouldnt really call it a big improvement, but they made the room bigger, added a 2nd level where you can hide in vents and find ammo staches, it opens up for different approaches. There was a wall I could punch through with the heavy-augment and found sentry turrets that I could use against him. Its still a bullet sponge though and I wish they would have atleast made a new cutscene for when you defeat him with stunguns, he still lies in a fuckin pool of blood at the end no matter how you do it.

Other than that Im really enjoying the audio commentary, they have a lot of interesting things to say about the development process and design decisions and little anecdotes to tell. It gets exhausting at times because they talk while dialogues are happening, so a lot of voices at once, obviously not recommended if you havent played the game before, they do assume you know the story. But its a really cool feature for people that enjoyed the game and want to more know about behind-the-scenes stuff, I hope more games will do that kinda stuff in the future.

An in-game commentary is a really interesting idea. After all DVDs of films do it so it makes sense.

How does it actually fit into the game? Do they have cut scenes with the commentary running over them?

It is very similiar to how Valve does it where they are placed into the game world but they dont have markers so you just randomly stumble onto them. It uses the transmission system so when you get to one an "incoming transmission" will pop up and you can then press F to play it. The only thing that interrupts it is when the transmissions are used by actual ingame characters, so yeah like I said, you dont do yourself a service if you play with them enabled if you dont know the story. They also sometimes kick in automatically during the prerendered cutscenes. The only complaint I really have is that there is no button to stop them. Since there is the occasional backtracking, especially in city hubs, I found myself replaying the same commentary tracks multiple times because I forgot it was a spot I already located earlier. But other than that yeah I think its a cool feature.

I agree it makes a lot of sense. I really dislike it when games only do like the typical 10 minute "making of"-video (nowadays in stupid deluxe editions which make no sense cuz those videos end up on youtube later anyway). I feel like its too short to really go behind the scenes and most of the times you just see a couple officerooms and people pretending to work in a game editor. I love commentary-track on DVDs and games take so longer to get through and are more personal, that I see a lot of potential in programmers sharing their views being a really interesting thing for people like me. Allthough I dont really need something like that in a linear firstpersonshooter really, but an open RPG like Deus Ex does offer enough material to suck you into the design process.

That trailer was weird, like it just randomly jumped from point to point and I feel like it spoiled a whole lot of potential bossfights.

Still tho, Im excited! Dudesex HR was a fantastic game with some unfortunate flaws. I still have to finish the directors cut at some point.
