A lot changed within the game. Beside all of the typical free to play weapon additions they introduced a new capping system and a new vehicle (a multi-seat buggy). Now you can't just go about whereever you want but have to follow specific router, capping bases along them. Makes for less tactical variety, but for more focussed battles without having to look for it forever.
The hud is now much cleaner and the map is much more userful. A lot more different stuff that I myself played to little to tell you about.

That was nice. Finally some epic battles in PS2 instead of just fucking around randomly.

After the first half hour of feeling confused it got really good as I worked out what was going on.
It did feel pretty good being part of a real battle with strategy and all of that. One thing though...upgrading my desktop is now top priority. From time to time it felt I was in a slideshow. I kept getting run over by tanks because I couldn't get out of the way fast enough.
At least I could still repair and throw down ammo.
But yes, an upgrade even if I have to live off beans for the rest of the year.

Yeah - that was probably up there in the top 5 favourite PS2 battles/evenings. The really slow pushing them back away from our warp-gate was really good and got lots of tank/aircraft kills with the guided rocket launcher - nomnomnom.
Hopefully everyone in the PCG outfit was nice - been playing with them for a couple of months now (I think PS2 is my current most played MP game) and there's usually plenty of fun to be had!

They seemed a good bunch. Very disciplined and organised. From what they were saying it was a really good night.
My computer issues did frustrate things a bit.

Managed to get PS2 running for 3 hours. There was no way I was going to leave the game to install Mumble. Epic battles though, at one point I had around 5 people fixing my Sunderer while it autofixed the platoon's tanks

Yo Berath what are your specs? Even highend systems cant handle Planetside 2, its an unoptimized mess. Setting it to highest settings actually makes the game run better in alot of cases because it bottlenecks the CPU more likely than the GPU.

Indeed - I have an overclocked i7 920 and it still runs at about 30FPS in battles because of CPU bottlenecking. Changing graphics settings makes 0 difference. I have just found this handy guide though: http://vanurangers.com/page.php?11Lots of information on what settings you need to change that affect your CPU usage etc.

I'll take a look at that guide, see what I can do.
Yes, my processor is an overclocked e8400 with 2GB....pretty inadequate really. The graphics card is the one I bought recently.
