- Some bases have shields. If a shield is up it will display a symbol on it. Look for the same symbol in your surroundings, that is the generator you have to take down to disable the shield. You don't have to shoot at the generator to destroy it, just press E on them and they will go into overload. Then make sure you wait until the end and no one from the enemy team stops the process. CAREFUL: When this thing blows, everyone in the room usually dies.
- When capturing the base, check out the numbers at the cap points, they usually look like 0/1, 1/2 or something like that. The second number shows how many people can influence the point at once (accelerates the speed of you taking over the base) the first number shows how many of the team currently holding that point are actually next to it. If the point is full, being next to it doesn't accelerate, but you still might want to hang around, incase the enemy tries to clear it.
- If you are in a Galaxy (transport airship), don't be afraid to jump out. You won't die of fall damage, unless you hit a slope and keep falling afterwards. Some Galaxy pilots will just eject everyone on the ship without landing, so don't get scared, just be careful of what you land on.
- Call V -> 2 for heals, V -> 3 for repairs, V -> 4 for ammunition. If anyone of the fitting class is close to you, they will be notified of your request.
- Press "Insert" to join a random squad operating at your current position. This will help get some direction for the game and give you a couple of people to stand next to you, so you don't get shot first. To leave a bad squad, press P, look for your name in the list and click the icon to the right of your name. While in the squad, you can adjust the volume levels of the whole squad channel or a memeber of a squad individually (same for people who are closeby, but that's usually not worth it, since they are coming and going, changing constantly).
- Make sure you know what key your "Squad Voice" is. There is also "Local Voice" key, which is usefull if multiple squads are operating in the same area. I do believe that the enemy nearby can hear you when you're using it, though.
- MAX costs some ressources to spawn in and you cannot capture points with it. It is very good for defending them though and can be set up as anti-air, anti-armour or anti-infratry. You are basically a walking turret.
- Use your first certs points to get every cert that only costs 1 cert point. The most important being Medkit or Restauration Kit. The difference is, Medkit restores your health immediately, restauration kit does it over time. I think the kit heals more. Make sure, you actually buy some of those and equip them in your class loadouts. You just select them like you would any weapon and press the mouse button.
- Q spots everything. People who play Battlefield will feel right at home. Make sure you spot someone/something BEFORE you engange them/it. That way if you fail, your team can still know there is something to shoot at. Hold Q while aiming at different things to get a menu, for example to request transport and other similar things.
- I found heavy assault is a nice class for beginners. Good alround weapons, usefull against infratery and machinery and has a special ability which basically grants you a second shield on top of your first one. (Disclaimer: I only tried it with Vanu).
- While riding a vehicle at night, use "L" to turn off the flashlights, otherwise you are a sitting duck for everyone who is even a mile away from you.
- Press "Page down" to open Vehicle administration menu. You can make your vehicle only available to you, to your squad or to everyone on your team. This is also where you can desintegrate your vehicle if you don't intend to use it anymore, thus denying an enemy the points for eventually destroying it. I think desintegrating the vehicle also resets the timer, which would otherwise prevent you from spawning the same vehicle right away.
- There is a meelee attack in this game. It's on T or middle mouse button. If you use it on someone, his shields are immediately disabled, so you just have to shoot him 3 times and he is down.
- Some bases cannot be entered from the ground level if not under your fractions control. Look for jumping pads, which will take you to one of the upper levels.
- ENTER to chat, Ctrl+Tab to jump between the channels (local, squad, platoon). BACKSPACE to answer to someone who just whispered you.
