I can't see what the dlc for this could be except additional campaigns based off the others. And firaxis do love dlc. The soldier customisation dlc is pretty weak, 3 helmets, the silly hair, 3 armour variants for low tech armour only, a bunch of colours. Even bigger waste of time than your average cosmetic dlc. Just hope they make terror from the deep a bit more stand out. As far as I can tell apocalypse actually has different aliens but terror for the deep is largely underwater reskins of enemy unknown.
About to finish my normal playthrough. Now that I have tons of cash its interesting to see that yes you can in fact build lots of everything. Also did anyone else notice but adjacency bonuses are vertical as well as horizontal? The most efficient base I think has 2x2 squares of workshops, labs, satellites and power and the unique facilities crammed down edges. Eventually you can just scrap the labs gradually and shove more workshops in but I don't think you'd ever reach a base of that size before the game ended somehow.

By the end of my game I had filled all but the lower level, which had 2 spaces. I had a 2 by 2 square of satellite relays/uplinks.

RIP Loco saviour of the world and ultimate badass. She was a free gift from china. And special mention to cyclops the killing machine that is squad sight sniper. She was with me since mission 2. And boo to prototype for getting himself killed in a story mission and costing me an achievement. The Irish guy who saved that city from a bomb never went on another mission sadly, I should rotate the troops more but the A-team seem to heal up so fast I can always take them out and have them not die (on normal).
Gonna wait a week or two for a patch before I do an ironman, got dishonoured to get through and maybe borderlands dlc and maybe do some things in the real world.

Decided after 3 hours I was good enough for classic (playing Ironman anyway since losing high ranking soldiers is PART OF THE FUN). Did fine for 3 missions then got utterly dicked by one of those energy things in the UFOs who picked off my entire team despite their full cover and range advantage. Back to normal for now...

re the ending terror, I felt the story tied everything together much more neatly than the trainwreck at the end of the orginal, and it was fairly epic. I think maybe it could have done with some more stage setting and then the level itself was kinda huh. Were you doing normal as well though? While I think the level design was kinda limp and in general the game needs more variation and maybe some bigger arenas I think the enemies of the final level would have been many times more terrifying on a harder ironman. Have yet to reload my save and fail to see what happens.

Does anyone else talk to their troops? Its a habit I got from a UFO Defence lets play. I can't play the game without doing the same now. Maybe i'm just highly suggestible.

I did cheer and congratulate Hzza when he made a 13% shot to save Mama getting torn apart by a Chrysalid and end the mission. I also join in with condemning my Mode, who seems to be a plasma magnet based on the amount of times he gets hit by snap shots whilst in full cover halfway across the map.

My standard policy is that anyone who makes Sergeant gets a clan name, and anyone who makes Captain gets edited to look like their namesake (assuming I've met them). Mama and Hzza are both Assault majors and Mode is a support captain, so they're the only ones to get makeovers so far.

What the actual fuck? I've just been doing my first Ironman Classic game and on the first VIP mission my whole team got one-shotted by a single thin man in 3 turns (first was from overwatch)....
My team couldn't land a single shot on him.
srsly, is classic mode just skewed so that your accuracies are much worse than the aliens?
