Because Brahms requested a thread about it. There is a new X-Com game coming out. For those of you who don't know, X-Com is a series of rather excellent (or so they say) turn-based strategy games. The premise is that aliens are invading Earth and you're in control of the only military force that can stop it (X-Com). The game is basically split into two parts: combat and base management. Combat consists of turn-based battles in a variety of places in which you must defeat aliens (duh), save civilians and trying not to get your squad killed. The scenery is destructible, which means if a pesky alien is hiding behind a wall, you can just blow up the wall and, voila, no cover and/or dead alien. Base management consists of, well, managing your base. In it, you can build facilities that can make stuff that goes boom, laboratories and other where you can research alien technology left in the battlefield and so on. You can even build a robot that escorts you on missions. Anywho, pictures are worth more than words, so: E3 TrailerBase ManagementAn hour-long stream of the game by Firaxis Stuidos (the guys who are making it)

Definitely getting this.
Naming all of your troops after people you know makes the game so much more fun...and somehow more frustrating.

How am I getting along btw? As far as I remember, you were responsible for killing 3 or so people during a base defence mission by going berserk before blowing up an alien disk with a primed grenade in a small corridor. Then I had to have someone hit you with a stun rod. Thanks again for that.

This is xcom so at the very least you'd probably have no rectum left. Who knows what else sectoids would do with such a probe.

it seems weirdly resistant to discounting atm. Amazon might be worth a go for the preorder price guarentee. You still get the xcom soldier customisation, you don't get the tf2 items but meh. Who gives a crap anymore about promo tf2 items will be able to craft/trade them later.
