Total War: Rome II

The first Rome is still my favourite of the series, partly because of the time period and partly because it had the most diversity in the factions of any game in the series. Been looking forward to this ever since they announced Medieval II seven years ago.

Sounds good but I lost all my faith in Uber after theyve driven SMNC into the grave like Ive never seen before. If you want a balanced multiplayer RTS or any multiplayer game in general, do not expect it from this company.

Nono you cant buy power in SMNC, its just that theyve made the dumbest decisions and kept losing players for that. Theyve sucessfully lost around 20k+ core players in around 2 months (the ENTIRE competitive playerbase switched over to SMITE or Dota 2 in a matter of weeks) by completely shitting on any pleas for game balance and making the weirdest balance changes that made no sense (to give you an example, one character in the game -Cpt. Spark- is hands down the most overpowered and broken pro and theres still a 100+ page thread on the balance forums where pretty much every highend player was endorsing nerfs but instead they still keep buffing him). In the end all they do now is patch in different overpriced skins but they dont even bother with game balance at all anymore. The devs also all got very arrogant over the past few months, they seemed to be really nice on the forums during the closed beta but now all they post is rude insults and lies about their apparently "growing playerbase" (Last time I checked on friday there were 300 people playing the game lol)

It was a good concept and a brilliant game idea completely ruined by its creator. I dont think Ive ever seen a developer be so overchallenged by their own game lol.

Ive lost all my faith in the SMNC community when everyone started yelling for Gunner nerfs eventhough he is by far the worst pro in the game and so easy to outplay. The average skilllevel in that game is horrible and it kind of corrupted the devs since they decided to cater towards newer players in terms of balance. whatashame.jpg

Loved the concept, enjoyed the gameplay, felt it could have worked. I kept waiting for them to put the final touches to it and launch it onto the world with an enormous fanfair but they just kept fiddling with it and letting it slowly diminish.

Pretty much any fps community is full of braindeads who don't understand the difference between fair balance for all, and crutching themselves on op weapons which can't possibly have any effect on gameplay because if you have enough skill you can knife everyone to death obv.

Its their job as developer to ignore players who only talk about their selfish right to win, and either use stat reporting or cultivate good relations with players who actually understand balance. Having a shitty playerbase is pretty much the price of any measure of success. Especially in FPS/MOBA.

I really wanted smnc combat to be good too but I could never get into the first one.
