I just can't face the idea of another game that asks me to go and kill n number of spiders so some shopkeeper can have m number of spider teeth to do goodness know what with.
Or something like that.
excellent. you need to play this game.

Yes, kill X amount of monster Y for stationary cockhead Z (i shall henceforth call it XYZ) has been done to the death, and MMO writers are starting to learn that, it seems.
GW2 (at least the starting area I got to play) still has bits of this, but it didn't feel as pronounced as with, say, WoW. In that respect I need to commend SWTOR, the XYZ parts are usually "alongside" objectives, that you get to fulfill by running through the area to get to meaningful objectives anyway.
The dynamic world aspect is very endearing indeed, I liked that, too.

It does it very clever though. Around 99% of the "quests" (or events) I did follow the same pattern: Hey, this guy over there needs some help. I can either kill this type of enemy, help him repair that turret, revive fallen allys in that area or do something completely else. It never gives you a definite number of things you have to do, it only shows a progress bar without percentage and some things give more progress, some less.
Also what I really like is that the game heavily rewards exploration. None of the events are shown on the map unless youve been there or talked with scouts that are in the area. It feels very motivating and unlike in WoW Ive been finding myself having alot of fun checking out every corner in an area (in fact I 100%d the first leveling zone because of that). Its definitely something different from usual grind MMOs and my initial doubt that it might become a gimmick very quick has gone away, it is a very cool questing system and makes the player feel more involved in the story and world than in any other MMO Ive played.
And lets not forget the personal story. Ive completed it as far as it goes in this beta (lvl 19) and it is pretty much the same as in GW1, alot of instanced areas and conversation-cutscenes. They kinda force some allys on to you but they all have their own personalities and it ends up being alot of fun going into a story mission after some hours of doing events in an open world.

Been playing around 14 hours as a Norn mesmer and I really like it so far. Felt a little chaotic at the start, but was getting used to it pretty fast. Can't wait for the next Beta Weekend Event.

Tommy acts like it's so easy to know drug dealers. When you're a white collar worker with few friends it's actually pretty difficult to find a drug dealer.

If I had a mind to I could get drugs pretty easily via work and the service users (many know/are dealers) but I'd suspect senior management would take a dim view of it.

Buy a ticket to go to Amsterdam and just tell the first person you see what you want and ask where you can get it.

I'm hitting this game harder than Ike beat Tina when it comes out, I don't want to spoil anything with a beta.
