Campaign done, thoughts...

Enjoyed it. Definitely more crazy than the previous MW games. Felt it lost a little bit of steam between Paris and the Castle, just wasn't enough threat. Actually just generally easier overall than the previous two. Will continue as I have for the previous games with Hardened for my initial story run followed by Veteran next, will see if that ramps up the difficulty at all.

It was the most scripted one yet, though I'm willing to forgive it that for the number of times I just found myself grinning at the cool little ideas it threw in. The one thing that did annoy me was finishing the game with a QTE, I'd almost prefer a cutscene to that to be frank, itgot a bit ridiculous (jump, stab, stab, crawl, crawl, crawl, grab, punch, punch, throttle, punch etc.).

Aight, I prestiged yesterday and I want to give a more indepth review of the multiplayer because I think there are alot of people still on the fence about it.

If you expect something completely different from MW2 youre gonna get disappointed. It is basically the same game, but they brought in neat new additions to it that actually change the pacing and progress of games alot. MW2 was all about air superiority, whoever got the Harrier or Pavelow first would dominate the game. In this however, airstrikes arent as good and important anymore, since the game is alot faster and rewards aggressive run and gun, its all about knowing where the enemy is. So I would say that the support strike package (UAV, Counter UAV, other recon stuff) is the best choice for this game. I havent seen alot of Airstrikes sofar, most people rather prefer the UAVs and the only airstrike you can get from that is the stealth bomber. So in that regards it actually feels like a different game, in the core its not much different, but the really tight maps make the game more fastpaced and more focussed on Close Quarter Combat.

As for weapon balance, dont get your hopes up. Theres some ridiculous guns in this game. MW2 was all about ACR/Tar21 and G18s. In this game theres more of these so atleast it gives a bit of variety on which OP gun you want to use. The g18s for example still have the ridicolous hipfire, the only thing they changed was the magazine size. Also the MP7 outclasses every submachinegun and even Assault Rifle, that gun is a beast and I actually carried that over (after prestiging you can choose a gun that you can use from the start in your next run). The noobtubes got nerfed pretty hard, theres some cool new toys to play with but theyre no instant kill ololol anymore, its more of a distraction rather than killmachine. Shotguns are weaker but still alright. Havent really touched the Sniperrifles or LMGs yet. The combination of perks seems to be more balanced now though, they packed some of the MW2 combos in the same slot.

So, overall, I really love this game, its a more fun version of MW2 without the air superiority and more variety in gunchoice. Id say if you enjoyed MW2s multiplayer or got pissed off by airstrikes and noobtubes, try it out. Its not going to be the most balanced Call of Duty but if you enjoy fastpaced Gun and Run, its a shitton of fun (especially on Kill Confirmed, which is pretty much the only gamemode Ive been playing), I would recommend it!

The only thing IW has ever patched was the winchester shotgun a few months after MW2 dropped. Nothing else though lol

I like the shotguns, most of them have been horribly nerfed (the SPAS is now shit compared to its former glory) but the last two you unlock (the Striker and the 1887) are horribly overpowered, there's no reason to use the others at all.

The P99 tac knife doesn't work properly, instead of speeding up knifing, it slows it down...
