Sigh, well I uninstalled D2 to get rid of a mod and found I had lost the CD key for the original D2 (not the expansion) after serchging for ages I found it, but couldent instal due to a disc being damaged.. so then i pulled out the spare set of disks, but they where damaged too, so I tried combining them during the install, but that did not work either.... then I managed to get all the data onto my PC and instaled virtualCD, made a virtual CD of it and it still dident work.

Then I gave up.

No D2 for me.

Zasprel - register your keys with Blizzard online, then grab the digital download versions free from them. They're much more modern than the CD version and it should work a treat.

I got it all set upbut now I cannot sign in cause IE just times out and the downloader just keeps saying it cannot authenticate the download.

I has been slow at times for me - exactly the same problem. I did manage to get in though

Well no joy with this, because I dont have admin rights on the old computer (it's an old work unit that I never got around to re-installing the OS on it) it will not authenticate the download so I cannot use the downloads from blizzard... sigh.

Sadly I went and did the same with warcraft 3, I uninstalled it because it wouldent update (it's a copy leached over a network) and much to my disapointment the CD must be dammaged as it will not install. Thankfully I mannaged to get a key grabber from somewhere and register the CD key to my blizzard account so when I do fnally get the new computer running I will be able to download it.

I actualy have a 3rd copy of diablo at a friends house, I might go get it today.

Holy crap 2 year necrobump hell yeah.

Obviously this still isn't out, but Amazon are currently selling it for pre-order at 22.97 of your British Pounds, which is supposedly a third off £35 (naively believing that Blizz will RRP it for anything less than £40). This has actually tempted me to get it, as if all else fails you can always cancel it in the future.
