I'd like to make a suggestion for next week.  In light of the author Iain Banks http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iain_Banks passing away this month why not have a Culture themed frag fest, specifically ship names http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_spacecraft_in_the_Culture_series

Or have most of you philistines never read his books.

I don't know that much about Iain Banks - I guess the 'spacecraft from Culture' might be a bit specific. What about fictional spacecraft for the theme? That way it's a bit more generic but your suggestion still applies?
