Next Q I can't see on the wiki.

In game there are icons above tanks, red diamonds, usually.  I've worked out that a square is a SG.. but what about the standard diamone with a black line through?

Tank destroyer?

Anyone can create a platoon, so 2 people can go together into a game. If u have a premium account, u can have platoons of 3.

Tank icons. A square = SPG
Inverted triangle = Tank Destroyer
Diamond = MBT These are split into 3 catergories, Light, Medium and Heavy. Mediums have a line thru the diamond, Heavies have 2.

almost all my games are in the smallest matches, when I play the ms1 or the cunningham... yes you're the smallest.  With the biggest gun (as stated the 45mm on the ms1 can do damage to almost anything).

However I saved up 20,000 ish exchange gold and bought a BT2, so much fun !! quite often I'm the top 2-3 players on the starting grid, I can punch any tank, and regularly walk away with four kills per match (though I've actually done that with the ms1 as well)

Just about to buy a 90,000 tank.... should be another nice step up

Well... I expected it to.... destroy tanks.
Instead... I move slower, turn slower, cant turn my barrel beyond 10 degrees, hit as hard as other people.

The ONLY thing in your favour is that you can hide in a bush better.... except hide too close and they see you on approach and it's game over... hide too far away and then to get to them to hit them from behind you have to sprint 100m... which takes you into the open where other tanks spot and kill you.

I presume I'm missing a tactic, but no idea what it is.

By the sounds of it I also have the same preconceptions about tank destroyers. I thought it was that you had a gun from the tier above to make up for the lack of turret. So whacking great big boom stick, but can't turn your head. So take the wide path, swing in from behind and KA-POW! Rinse and repeat until smoldering or out of boom credit.

I just tell Mrs Junta that he's good on maneuvering and does decent mpg.

Word of advice, check the tech of the asset ur gonna buy before you buy it. Compare it to other assets you have, this will remove any reconceptions you have. A tier higher isn't always a tier better, to start with. Initial models are often under-powered by comparison, until u unlock the upgrades. This is supposed to represent the evolution of the machine through it's service life, but this will not tie in chronologically with the other assets in any given match.

Just bought a bt7, ran around a corner and the milli second I saw a tank destroyer I was dead

Admitted he was 10ft away pointing right at me, and I was almost the lowest tank on the field... but still that smarted
