well thats most regulars saying no to a reset which is what we figured but what we want to know is updating to pre4 ok with everyone. Theres no major issues with the release, it just means you will have to manually paste the updated jar http://assets.minecraft.net/1_9-pre4/minecraft.jar into C:\Users\YOU\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\bin |

im ok either way. i just do what guilt said. recreational fun. One question tho. Can i still play on another minecraft server (without pre 4 )? Or would i need to edit appsdata each time?(not that its a hasstle  ) |

theres other stuff in the folder you don't want to swap, so i'd suggest either renaming the jars each time, or renaming both and copying one to be minecraft.jar each time.

it looks like our host was having problems with pre-releases, 2 and 3 were screwed up with various utilization problems. 4 is not currently available and theres not been any word from them yet if they have tested it or not. I found the full 1.9 changelist on the wiki and I am sooo excited about playing with the new features, most of you probably have a rough idea of the main feautres but there are so many cool new little things. One quick example to avoid spoiling tons of things but theres a tool enchantment that lets you harvest any block. This is a cool feature in itself but it means now you can go to say the mushroom biome and grab some of the mycelium and bring it back to you farm for cultivation. mycelium makes mushrooms grow faster (normal growth is nerfed) and lets them grow in full sunlight, it also spawns mooshrooms. Also someone made an auto-breeder already: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GcqzuoaCWZMAnd mob grinders are nerfed, you need to farm mobs still but a lot of important drops from them require player damage sources now. Thankfully theres a way to farm mobs to an extent i'll let you figure that one out. And tons of more things. |

our host responded pretty quickly, apparently pre4 is still no good server-side but they are stalking jeb who reported that its now fixed. The host thinks it will be in the next pre-release but I think we've seen the last pre-release and won't be able to play with all the cool new stuff until release  . |

Found a stronghold on the server. Wasnt as impressed as i thought i would be. Especially when silverfish do no dmg

strongholds only really got finished up in the latest pre-releases. the 1.8 version is still a bit incomplete. in 1.9 theres a kindof compass thing you can make to find them, silverfish work. They are a bit bigger with more rooms, and the portal room works

good news everyone!
jeb just announced it was in mojangs interest to release another pre-release before minecon. I'll hazard a guess and say 1.9 has not been widely deployed to lots of servers yet because of the now patched utilisation bug (that comes back all the time) and they want to test out deployment on smp. No word from mojang yet when its coming out, our host should have it up reasonably quickly once its out though will keep you posted.
