Hmm, maybe we'll do a reset, but only when we add mods, but we won't be adding mods for a couple months probably?
Can anyone weigh in on whether we can jsut move spawn?

did we ever decide what to do? I thought spawn move? But i don't remember. The server is now running 1.3.1 you can find the download on the mojang website but I expect most of you will be playing this after 2pm (3pm CEST) when the update goes live in the client auto-updater anyway.

spawn was moved to 5000,5000, large biomes is on. The buildawall script failed but hopefully didnt mess up the map. I checked and everything seems fine, have been playing a little bit.
I think 5000,5000 is about right. Our most extreme explorations have been around 4000 on a single axis. So you can still travel between the areas with a long journey if you like, but its not something you can do regularly. I've not moved any players to the new area so if you want to go there you will need to put your stuff away and break your bed and then kill yourself. You can use an ender chest if you really need to take a few items with you but that at least will require you to reach the point of being able to build an ender chest from scratch in the new area.

I think the massive ocean thing is slightly overdone, I'm stuck on a small desert island with 1 tree. Can we have a spawn move to somewhere more green and vibrant please.

I could but i dunno seems like an interesting change of pace? With one tree you can farm it a bit and use the wood to make a boat and sail away looking for land. Also you can reuse boats now, if you break them yourself they drop. Or you could just dig down from your island until you mine enough for obsidian and escape through the nether?
