Genkibowl VII is out. It's fun enough, but really short, I don't think it's worth the current price to be honest. It's two instances each of four activities, with cutscenes and the beginning and end of the whole thing. It's not story progressing missions.

The activities are, in increasing order of fun, Apocalypse Genki (reskin of SERC in a jungle), PR opportunity (reskin of Escort, but with flamethrowers), Yarngasm (reskin of Mayhem, but with a gigantic ball of yarn to crush things) and Skyblazing, which is a combination of freefalling through flaming hoops while stopping on the occasional roof to take a chainsaw to some mascots.

Probably worth waiting to see if it gets 50% off in a sale.

OK it is awesome but much shorter. Much less activities and most of them recycled :/
Also not happy with the endings, though I appreciated that they let you experience both.
Story was weaker IMHO, SR2 felt much more coherent.

Also, did they really kill Johnny Gap off-camera for nothing? I kept expecting him to come back..."I got better", as clone, whatever.

What was the point of killing their most recognizable character? So that the second most recognizable character can have her personality completely changed?

Well guess what chaos. I like discussing games. I enjoy dissecting them, looking at what worked and what didn't, trying to understand the design decisions the developers made.
I read blog posts, detailling why it makes no sense that Shepard joined Cerberus in ME2. I have a whole list of things I need to read/watch once I've played ME3.

And while story is not the main focus of the Saints Row series, story can make any game better or worse. And I feel like the story in SR3 hurt it a little, especially if you compare it to SR2, where they handled it better.

If you don't enjoy these discussion, feel free to stay away from them. But don't belittle me on the forums and don't annoy me over steam. You don't see me messaging you each time you launch CoD.

I was more trying to suggest that the story is at the end of the queue with a game like SR3. Gameplay and stupidity being at the front ofc.

It's fine... I dunno why that hit me so hard... Normally I'm better at ignoring stuff like that.

Maybe I should also explain better. The ending I chose was the one where you save your friends. So the "epic finale" was killing some laughable easy enemies followed by a laughable easy boss you don't really have a grudge against. At the bottom of a statue. And then you win the game by magic of PR!
Compare that to SR2. Beating that slimy weasel, the boss of ultor (forgot his name) felt good. He had it coming. It was a clear finish, a clear end.
After SR3 final, I went "that's it?". The only thing that said to me "this is the end" during playing it was that mode posted in here that it ends while playing "Holding Out for a Hero". Heck, blowing up the aircraft carrier was a more logical ending.
The other end was much, much better in that regard, it felt like an end. But in order to get it, you need to act completely out of character and let the game pretty much outright tell you it was the wrong one. "Was it really worth it?" wasn't just heavily implied, they said it to your face and your character pretty much says "no" back.

Oh well, I'm just rambling now. Ignore it. Like I said, no idea why I took it so personal.

I haven't seen much from the DLC, just read the blurb, but isn't the clone just a mindless, raging monster, not him "coming back to life"?
Also, imagine having the real one and the cloned one in the same scene. The jokes would write themselves!

I have the Clones DLC as I got the season pass but haven't played it through yet. Genkibowl and Gangstas in Space were extremely disappointing, hugely overpriced for the amount of content included.
