For a cool $8.5Bln. Which seems like waaay to much considering it was valued at $2.5Bln last year when ebay sold it, and not much has changed since.
I'm not happy, Worried that MS are going to ruin Skype like they ruined messenger, stuffing it full of ads and getting talentless hacks to rewrite the new versions such that its bloated and unstable (Live Messenger tends to crash within 24 hours of running and start using all the cpu cycles for me).
Was really hoping that the Google/Facebook combined deal was going to go ahead and I'd finally have the IM to rule them all - contacts from all three networks, cheap international phone calls, and Googles awesome voice features like voicemail to email transcription.

Using Pidgin instead, only recently discovered that it started supporting multiple locations logged in. That was the only reason i used to use the official client. Skype wise i'm always on, got international relatives to keep in touch with. I'm the Neil Singleton in Bridgwater if you want to add me |

Nope, but they have all the same features, infact Pidgin also supports IRC channels. |

Digsby does a lot of stuff like 'advertise digsby in your status by default' which annoys me too much. Maybe I'll give Pidgin another go, it always seemed a bit...ugly.

yeah but you can turn off all those digsby things and it does help them out a bit if you leave them on. and pidgin is really ugly from the screens
