For the last ~6 months I've played TF2, and almost 99% has been on the wdg server. Most of this time I've enjoyed a good game of tf2, and although I respect and appreciate the 'stock' game, until today I never realised how much.

I've just spent around two hours playing tf2... approx 10 mins per server.  If I did not know of WDG I would probably delete the game and play something else.

I have never seen such fucking retarded server configs for any other game... ever.

This server has Saxton Hale only (fun for the odd game, but not dedicated)

This server has been playing the same level for 19 hours, so the top 4 players have 200 points each... almost impossible to gauge the teams/maps/games/players

This server has random weapons, so you spawn with random crap

This server has 24 players MINIMUM who all suspiciously run in circles with less than 0 intelligence... hmmmm

This server had a medival castle, and from what I can tell the only permnitted weapons are swords, arrows, and fists... so a medival tf2?

This server plays a ******* retarded ass kissing ******* idle map where people stand still... and then die... wtf?

This server has nothing but skill maps, where... well I'll be honest I can't work out what to do, no matter what I do I die.. and so does everyone else

This server has a map so over the top detailed and stupid, that the fps is so bad I might as well look at postcards flicking through them really fast

This server is full of Rabbi's in chicken suits

This server is actually freecell but in the style of tf2

This server is a trap

This server thinks its Friday

This server fiddles with your girlfriend whilst you're playing



I mean really, I appreciate giving people the ability to customise, and to create, and enjoy... but where the hell has actual tf2 gone?

Do you have guys have a secret list of servers I don't know about where people actually play tf2?

As I said, I like the point of stock tf2, and even though I sometimes feel there aren't enough maps on the server (yes due to people leaving not a dictatorship regime of admin).... if that's the worst to put up with... then god I love you guys, really I do.

I'm off to find something else to do, as until WDG server fills up next, I simply cant be arsed with tf2

There still are a few good pub servers around, Festers place and Nervousenergy deserve a shout. But yeah I think for most of the population TF2 is more of a casual thing done for lulz.

I feel your pain, e90. Thankfully, there are safe havens in the sea of server stupidity. This actually applies for any game played online that use a dedicated server.

That's actually Degroot Keep, a stock TF2 map.

Agree 100%, not that I play much these days, but I would've stopped playing years ago if it wasn't for WDG.

Yeah, Hampshire Heavies and Uberium are the only servers outside of WDG that I play on.

That's medieval mode, actually an official TF2 map. It's fun for a round or two, unfortunately it's not on WDG and Junta always says he'll ban me when I want to nominate it

The other day I was playing on a random server. Out of 9 players 4 were engi. Not on dustbowl. On freight :/
Not one of them was able to get a tele up, or a useful sentry for that matter.
