I've only just been playing jet rush maps since the patch. And meh while jets are still annoying as shit the stinger seems actually usable. Just got 6 or 7 kills in a round with it and disabled a few more jets with the pilot bailing. Its still a poo weapon but at least now just 2 guys can significantly harass the air support over the mcoms. There were 2 annoying pilots in the attack heli and jet that knew how to avoid multiple stinger locks, I got the heli in the end but really good jets it seems can still avoid everything. Definately improved situation though as I can fairly reliably get stinger kills now. Assuming I wasn't just playing against completely terrible pilots.

Also mortars seem ok as well. Just got about 12 kills on metro and forced some fairly fun counter-mortar play which i mostly won. Only thing still broken is claymores sucking total balls atm.

Oh god though, the railing glitch is still there, I just vaulted a railing and ended up 20 feet in the air, then splat on the pavement.

It is definitely a step up from previous Battlefield games. I remember competitive matches in BC2 being horrible to organize, for example, there was no warmup or readyupphase implemented, players all joined at the beginning of the round and noone was allowed to move unless both captains gave the go (ofcourse noone could check if anyone would actually stand still thanks to the lack of demosystem).

This might interest me in getting back into comp Beef 3, but then again the game is such a huge medic circlejerk especially on Squad Rush, seriously no fun.

The big desert one looked rubbish. Just a flat plain for tanks to slug at each other? Not exactly entertaining.

thats the big map and no. There are lots of mountains and other features and bases. With some desert arenas around but that map is huge its by no means the whole thing.

Those maps might be cool and whatnot and I really look forward to snow maps (I loved Port Valdez and Nelson Bay and basically every 2142 map) but 99% of Battlefield servers today have stupid instant vehicle respawn, I dont feel like looking for a good server for 5-10 minutes before I finally get to play. When you have a retarded community, dont give them the adminpower to mess with your gamebalance (see Black Ops on PC). This is one reason why I rather play Close Quarters, the only thing admins can really fuck up there is ticketcount and even with 500 or more, those rounds are over pretty fast.

I would vouch for official servers but theres so few of them.

Abda's right. Easily the worst thing about playing BF is trying to get a game going on a good server with nice teams where you're with your squadmates etc etc etc etc etc it takes forever and it's really annoying.

IMO they should just enforce their default options and if you don't want them automatically unrank the server.

MW3 on PC actually did it right in alot of aspects. Give the community the option to have their own server where you can change almost everything you want and even create new custom gamemodes. BUT if you want to just enjoy the game it was made and want to level up, you have to play matchmaking on default settings.

Now if Battlefield would do the same and have matchmaking use dedicated servers (like Gears of War) then I would play that game all day.

Did you all take a look at the server I posted about the other day? 400% vehicle respawn time, infantry maps, 48 players, hard shuffle after every round. I actually quite like it for vehicles too because it punishes shit drivers by taking the vehicle away for so long and I get uninterrupted infantry murdering time .

Admittedly the vast majority of servers totally suck, but in general the scan.co.uk servers are good.

Finally. The also slightly buffed most reload times for all the other guns, which is a slightly weird response to the m16 reloading too fast.
