I don't see any difference, its not in the patch notes, and a lot of people on the forums are saying the ps3 players are just full of shit and nothing is different. Pretty sure it is on the nerf list but I don't think this is it.

ta abda. Is it enough though? I really couldn't see anything different on that vid, I do spend most of my time on tank thermals though which is a bit different and often obscured by smoke from my cannon.

Enemies arent as bright anymore and they immediately disappear when uhm not in Line of sight. Previously you could still see heat signatures for a fraction of a second when they would go behind cover.

Overall from the footage Ive seen theres still absolutely no reason why you shouldnt use the INRV on AR/SMG/LMGs. It still has no disadvantages at all.

My gripe with the INRV is that it takes away all the visual difficulties that BF3 has to offer (i.e. Glare, motion blur, generall brightnesslevel). In my opinion they can nerf it by adding ridiculous motion blur to it like in Modern Warfare.

It's way less bright, but it's still just like an upgraded holo/rdot. Abda's right, playing without the scope there's so much glare/motion blur/dust etc that really messes with your ability to pick targets. With the scope that all disappears.

dat usas-12. Its sick it really is. I just killed 5 people in a single volley, I think i hit some enemy explosives that helped but still. IRNV+Frag rounds+extended mags+ammo spec its just diiiiirty.

guess we will see when it comes out but maybe its cos hes using a tac light? tac light fucking up your irnv might be an interesting incompatibility of accessories?

Generally looks like a good patch, nerfs in most of the right places (tac lights, irnv, frag rounds on shotties , a lot of jet nerfs to make them a bit easier to hit, mortar nerfs, full auto accuracy nerfed to make people bother to use burst/single shot).

This sucks though:

Reduced the damage done to Armored Vehicles and Infantry from AA guns.
Increased the damage RPGs and Tank shells do to AA vehicles.

The damage done to armoured vehicles was pretty light, it did mean via ambush and quick driving you could kill stuff you perhaps weren't meant to but its not like you could win a head on fight versus anything. The AA gun was also already massively fragile so I don't see why it needs to take more damage either. Complete overkill here. AA was only a problem on canals rush, mainly because infantry could not close range to rpg spam, and most of them didnt have the javelin (or the brains to equip it). The damage versus infantry nerf was the only thing needed to give infantry the opportunity to get close and hurt the AA. I predict its going to suck balls now though. And yes its supposed to be anti-infantry, it needs to hold its ground to actually have a chance at shooting down aircraft and it has anti-infantry specs (vehicle thermals make aircraft invisible, only works on ground stuff).

AA Should kill infantry on open ground but get killed by any armour.

thats pretty much how it was, just needed the damage nerf versus infantry. Destroying tanks required flanking, surprise, fast manoeuvring, and a stupid tank driver, anything that saw you early blew you up.

the server browser has a ridiculous amount of filter options now. Lazzars reports the new patch sucks because now AA is bad and the helicopters just ruin everyones fun.
