I dunno I didn't get a single server with casspian border that wouldn't lag horribly. Also getting some graphical glitches on that map. Metro works pretty well, though not perfect.

caspian servers all die every other round end, but its been great when we found a stable server. And brahms being a tank gunner is waaay more useful now infantry are harder to kill with the main gun.

More useful, but still boring. Being the gunner is like the on rails bit from every FPS. Though can be spiced up if there's something to arm/defuse.

Ok, i'm in. I actually like the web based server browser, seems to work. Unlike the rest of the game.

Joined three servers so far, utterly unplayable. Framerate is fine but there is a huge delay between performing an action and seeing my character respond. Was getting spawncamped so seems fine for others though. I also can't go fullscreen, alt+enter doesn't work properly for me. Best I can get is a maximised window.

One game i had to give the three finger salute, so much lag I couldn't get to the quit button before being spawnkilled again.

Fuck this shit, pissed off I wasted an evenings bandwidth on it.

they are stress testing this weekend, some servers lag like shit, you just need to keep looking for reliable servers

I gave my comp a reboot and tried another server which seemed to work fine. I still can't maximise the screen (even tried disabling my second monitor, to no avail) but it ran pretty well and I had a fun couple of matches.

tanks are way too vulnerable on caspian, near impossible to solo them and no random knows how to gun/repair. I dunno if the destruction engine is still not fully enabled but theres too much crap infantry can hide behind that i can't blow up. They can go prone in rocks and plenty of irritating positions why they need indestructible buildings too i don't know. I've not seen destruction anywhere near bc2 levels which is disappointing.

Very stupid if they've reduced the destruction, but maybe it's because of the lag?

i'm playing on mostly lag free servers theres lots of scenery that will snag your tank or walls that just won't blow up. 2 points are specifically designed for infantry to hold forest and hilltop but the other 3 are for tanks to attack. Antenna is a bit full of rocks but gas station and checkpoint are full of what should be destructible terrain and the main tank points, but you can't blow any of it up. It doesn't help though that all infantry are either engineers or support. Its a really bad map for snipers and not great for assault.

maybe theres a spec i need to take to be able to solo, the main problem is engis can seemingly one shot you to disabled, which breaks regen and your movement and forces you to bail out and get shot. if i had a competant gunner riding with me i'd be fine but solo its shit to play.

that would be ok if randoms ever bothered repairing my tank but they just sit on the gun and don't fix my tank ever. and block cruel from getting in .

quick example just had some engineers camping A the gas station, they were hiding behind 2 civilian cars which do explode but only after putting 3 AP tank shells into them ?? which is less than I need to disable a tank. 6 tank shells to destroy their cover is not feasible because it will only take them 2-3 hits to disable me, 1 if they hit me in the rear or whatever zone is bullshit insta-disable.

Tanks are supposed to dominate infantry, other tanks and forever annoying helicopers and jets should be the main threat. Instead 2 engis are taking me down because their cover tanks a ridicolous amount of shells.

Well not very surprising, but yes, a map other than metro and with actual BF elements like Tanks improved this game greatly.

The whole tank health is very weird and a bit confusing at the beginning, sometimes you regenerate health, sometimes you lose health.

I'll still stick with wait and see, especially after I've spent an entire evening trying to get in a squad with disco and since caspian border greatly reduced my fps, but I'm much more positive now.

im repeatedly seeing rpg spamming engineers dominate the scores on caspian. The infantry vs vehicle balance is too skewed to infantry. The whole point of cover for infantry is so they can hide from tanks not use it to dominate.

I think I just saw a tank using upgraded shells spec, was definately a spec not in battelog and he exploded my tank in two front hits?? Maybe I just need the bullshit specs unlocked.

Im thankful they added Stinger-missiles. I dont care how easy this makes taking down helicopters and jets, but BC2 got really frustrating when someone dominated with a chopper and your team did nothing. Now it takes a couple of shots (and time) and theyre down and they can counter easily but it makes them less effective because they have to deal with the lockon first.
