Only thing I really hate about battlefield is the fucking terrible voice acting.

After playing the Early Access Beta for the last 2 days, here are my impressions:

For a game thats supposed to come out in a month, this is still horribly bugged and flawed. Up to a point where youre asking yourself how this made it into a Beta and didnt get fixed in Alpha. For example, none of the rocks on the first stage block bullets, you can shoot through all of them, which makes attacking almost impossible because those rocks are essential hiding spots for the attackers. Also if you go prone theres a 50% chance your character will just fall through the map and you can shoot everyone from under it (hello Vanilla Gravelpit). I hope they will patch this beta soon, cuz people are starting to find these glitches out and using them.

That being said, the gameplay itself is really good. The movement and gunhandling feels completely different from BC2 and reminds me alot of Crysis 2 + Mirrors Edge, I like it! Medics arent that necessary anymore because you die really fast in this game, it takes around 3 assault rifle bullets and youre down, they also reduced the range on medkits, so unless theres a specialization, you need to stand directly on it for it to heal you. I kinda wish the game would still give you more indication when your health is critical through bloody screens or whatnot. This will also hopefully make damage increasing perks not that necessary anymore cause all the weapons already feel like they have built in magnum ammo. Makes the battles more fastpaced and less campy. They didnt lie about the time it takes to unlock stuff, unlike in BC2 you actually need to unlock attachments for each gun individually now, it has the same system as in MW2 where a certain amount of kills gives you a new attachment.

So overall I enjoy this beta alot, but Im hoping for a patch that will fix the major bugs that are in it. Didnt get around to play Caspian Border yet, cause whenever they give out the password all servers are full and it takes real dedication to get on them. The metro map is alright though.

Game runs like crap for me though, I get around 10 fps on the last stage of metro, looks like I need a new graphics card before its coming out

Maybe I was too optimistic that they would have learnt from their mistakes from the launch of BC2. You know...put policies in place or whatnot.

Never said I was expecting a flawless game, but the amount of bugs in this is not funny anymore. You cant take 10 steps without glitching under the map.

They didn't learn from BF2 or 2142 so I doubt they'd learn from BC2.

That said, I remember the BC2 beta being pretty stable, so who knows what'll happen.

origin isn't working very well for me atm, keeps failing to load its pages and i can't click on the beta banner.   Not enough bandwidth and servers for the beta rush.

if you can navigate through the origin screens. For some reason double clicking the banner worked, and i finally managed to click install. Had to manually refresh to see it in the games list but its downloading away now.

If I click the download beta for PC link, it sends me to the facebook page. Not even a page begging me to like it or something, just the facebook page.
So I went back and looked around, there is a little notice that austrians can download it via origin, germans need some kind of age verification.
After 10 minutes of trying to find the origin download (I even tried clicking a demo link for another game, thinking it'd ask me if I had origin installed already before downloading the demo, but NOPE that got me to the page where I can buy the full game.) So I just googled origin download, and silly me, it is easy to find: at their about page.

So I download and install that shitty thing, login and set the language to english. It ignores that and displays in german anyways, meh whatever.
When I click install battefield 3 beta (hidden under free games o0) it tells me that due to german youth protection I'm only allowed to download it between 6am and 11pm.

FUCK. THIS. SHIT.

i actually think the battlelog browser plugin is a good idea. The retarded idea was removing all the in-game menus as well, I hope that is just beta behaviour we'll see. Metro is shit and the new op guns are shit, part of battlefields appeal to me has always been under powered guns meaning its very hard to get luck kills or bullshit, if someone died its cos you aimed properly and unloaded into them.
