Are there any games that are developed for both consoles and PCs that have full steamworks integration? i.e. if they are developing a server browser for consoles then why would they then go back and remove that for steamworks?

theres something, i forget what but i mean, xbox has its own junk for playing and its probably all hosted on other peoples xboxs etc. And bc2 they developed the server browser for only the pc version the netcode is always different between the two. theres also quite a few steam games with bang on 50 achievements because of the stupid xbox limit of 50 achievements. I never liked that

they're just taking the timed exclusive thing of bc2 to the next level, now you get weapons early but also dlc weapons early. All the preorder weapons will be paid dlc after awhile. Pretty lame though at least in bc2 it was just some weapons early and the spectact weapons are skins. The flash surpressor and flechette ammo though are specific to single guns one of which is a sniper rifle anyway. The only slightly concerning thing is the type-88 being exclusive but iuno bc2 guns are kinda boring especially the medic lmgs, the only difference is a few quirks. Assault is pretty much spray guns and single-shot noaim noob cannons, lmgs range across damage and accuracy but not much, engi smgs are just all the same, sniper rifles are bolt action or semi-auto. In BF2 you had a selection of guns that were actually different not just 10 reskins but I'm expecting BF3 to follow BC2 with tons of guns that don't really do anything different so the type-88 probably isn't a great loss

Apparently it's all down to EA's marketing people being complete idiots, DICE had nothing to do with it and someone who works there is trying to show EA that it's a really bad move.

They did the same thing with Bad Company 1 and people boycotted it, so EA removed the pre-order only bullshit. I think it's time for another.

Yeah I remember the hassle with Bad Company 1. When they ran the multiplayer beta a month before release they hinted at a few weapons that would only be available if you bought them as little dlcs (2-3 dollars each). The shitstorm that was caused by this eventually led to EA removing that "feature".

Maybe this will work again, but I dont think so, the only thing theyre probably gonna do is make this available for all preorders, not just the ones for those 2 shops.
