Been watching all seven episodes of "Generation Kill" over the last few days. Great miniseries! I really want to watch The Wire now.

Watched it yesterday. It was a good episode, but I think the season 2 premiere was better.

I'm not sure I can watch this anymore. I loved season 1, found season 2 slow, but it seems the deliberately putting people in danger for no reason part is out of control now.
It's not like they really understood risk vs reward in season 2 very well either, as they thought letting out a bunch of zombies would be a good idea rather than just burning down a shed or leaving it locked but looking for a child lost in the forrest was too dangerous. But still, it's now a little too much.
How does Grimes keep coming up with masterplans which involve running through the middle of the zombies? I loved his particular addition of having someone who possibly blames him for the death of their daughter firing a submachine gun at him to make it just that little bit more stupid a plan. And why does no-one in the rest of the group stick their hand up and suggest just not doing it. I mean killling zombies through a chainlink fence is like shooting fish in a barrel. A pickaxe or similar would be tiring and take time, but it would kill of like 90% of the zombies without using ammo or risking death.
I suppose though it's not really out of character for him or any others in the group. I mean they are the most inept bunch of people (with the exception of the crossbow guy and the other guy they don't let do anything because he's not a total idiot). Why would anyone join up with them? They lose people all the time to carelessness and stupidity and come up with plans that always involved huge amounts of risk for no reason.

This is pretty much what they do in the graphic novel :3
