Nb id recomend mirrors edge if it comes into the sale superb game.

True that, I got it for ~£5 last year. Hated the PS3 version (shitty controller, epic load times), loved the PC version. It's really short though, and the story is pretty ropey, but if you treat it like a racing game you probably won't be disapointed.

Interesting you should say that, I have it on 360 and I reckon the controller suits it rather well. Worth £5 regardless. Not much replay value in the Story mode but worth playing through a couple of times for the set pieces.

I have issues with the PS3 controller, for some reason the triggers (especially R2 and L2) make my joints ache after about 20 minutes; I don't get the same problem with the 360 controller though, but I've yet to try ME with it (got the 360 pad after I finished the game). I thought the keyboard controlls worked quite well though, the only problem I had IIRC was with countering guards melee attacks which I'm pretty sure was because I bound it to something stupid...

Ive got to get a 360 controller for the home PC  reckon ME will be easier with one as well lots of special moves like the wall jump climb combo. Also reckon it will help Lynn play games like portal etc as well.

Mirror's Edge is good up until the point people start shooting at you. I think it would play much much better as a puzzle game, or even if it just had the option to turn off bad guys.

I also found the PC version to be very buggy (hideous drops in fps whenever people start attacking me), which makes it unplayable.

IMHO getting chased is the best part of the game. It gets annoying when you have to fight back and when the "unusual" enemies start appearing.

Complete it on easy once, then play time trials as a racing game. Really does bring out the best of the free running.

Never had any problems with it on my rig, no crashes or slowdown or anything as far as I can remember...

Better then the being chased thing, was the bits where you do the chasing.

Also, there is nothing better then getting the disarm timing down and doing them on the move; the way momentum works in that game is amazing. Infact I think I'm going to reinstall it tonight....

Apparently there were some issues with anti aliasing, so I might just have to turn that off.

Gonna have to wait until after I've played the shit out of AC2, so much fun.

Might be why I never had any issues; its always the first thing I turn off along with motion blur and film grain .

You gotta have AA! I found the chasing other people bits disappointing as soon as I realised they just stand and wait for you if you fall behind.

maybe i should stop using 16x on everything then. not that i notice performance drops in any games at full res with full aa. except crysis of course that had to go down to 8xaa

If you can do it with no impact then go for your guns, but as soon as I get FPS drops thats the first thing to go.

I always go for texture detail myself. Motion blur is something that I seek to activate whenever possible. I honestly think it's one of the greatest additiions to gaming ever imo.

I hate AA. It used to be that I didn't even see the difference, people had to show me where to look to see it. Nowadays when I can't afford to turn it on, it really jumps at me

On the sales: Heard good (but little) about Metro 2033, I'll try it.
Apart from that: Meh again. Trine is nice, but I don't see the point of having 8 copies if all you have is local coop.

Very unspectacular sales, hopefully the Crimbo ones will be better.
