I watched a bit of the series of Cowboy Bebop, was alright but failed to grab my interest. Sorry I dunno I just fail to see in intrigue.

Animes are hit and miss, some are awesome, some are terrible, some you watch for the mere sake of watching cos you have nothing else to do. The summer before I went to uni I had NOTHING to do. No money and all my friends lived at least the town over so couldnt afford to travel, so I watched ALOT of anime, seen some pretty dreadful shit xD

I watched Naruto until it got shit, bleach, full metal alchemist I read until I got bored of the slow release schedule and I still read One Piece and watch it too. One Piece is the greatest

'Serious anime' trumps the cartoon BS everytime in my opinion. A lot of shows do the old 'normal -> omg a problem -> back to normal so next episode is ez mode' and I hate that.
Evangelion really shows some excellent character development and that's why i like it! Others just seem like much of the same thing :X

Also I used to have a gaiaonline account and from what I can remember is a pretty alright place.

Agree that Lord of War is an awesome film dodgy, but I actually think he's great in most films he does. The Rock and Con Air anyone?

Sooo, just finished Cowboy Bebop, have yet to watch the film though.

SEVERELY OVERRATED. It's good, but it's not that good. Picked it up in the end though, have to say. I'd recommend it, but I wouldn't say it's even partially better than Evangelion!

That's basically how I feel about Cowboy Bebop as well. I haven't watched the movie yet either, it seems like it would be anticlimactic after what happens at the end of the series.

I heard that they are going to make a live action movie with Keanu Reeves as Spike...

i like the cowboy bebop film, quite philosophical (though not on the scale of ghost in the shell). isn't quite as good as the series but the opening is amazingly good and the climactic battle is rather fun

Never been a huge fan of episode based anime, just hate the stigma attached to it - appreciete the art style though, just it's all a bit meh when it's trying to be badass.

Absoloutely love everything by Studio Ghibli though, I love all the connotations. Also 'The Cat Returns' is too kick ass not to love, I mean, talking cats and the Cat kingdom? What's wrong with that...

In terms of real films, i'd reccommend 'Old Boy' to anybody - easily one of the greatest films iv'e ever seen. It's a Korean violent 'wtf' film, basically a man gets locked in a room for 16 years seemingly without reason, and is one day released. The film's about him asking why basically, by shedding as much blood as possible On a more mainstream stage, Sin City all the way
