Also sorry for topic stealing Hzza.
I stole it off of Dodgy . My 4850 was still running most games pretty well, they must be hella cheap now they're 2 generations old.

Was thinking either a second hand 4850 or 4650 to be honest. Don't really know where I am with Nvidia cards. Just trying to make her stupid PC not useless

I was worried that my 4890 wouldn't cut the mustard at 1920 x 1080... but so far so good! Amazed that I'm still getting great results at a much higher resolution in L4D2, TF2, BFBC2 and other games. Haven't tried Crysis yet at the higher res though!

Wahey, just snapped up a decent 5850 for £120 delivered from the OCUK Members Market Forums FTW. On that note I'm looking to sell my BFG 8800GTX for around £60+Postage if anyone is interested. Its has a factory overclock and is still a very solid performer even at 1920x1200.

Feeling slightly less good about my recent £120 purchase of a second hand 5850 - Play have new ones on pre-order @ £115 arriving Dec 6th I'm amazed prices dropped this far, since it's a stronger card than the 6850, but that's a pretty great deal if anyone is looking for a new card for Christmas.

Yeah - at that price I'd almost be tempted to get another one and try out crossfire!

Unless they've made significant strides in crossfire in the last year, crossfire is over-rated. I had a pair of 4870's and they made a negligable increase in performance, certainly not enough to justify the doubling of price. I still feel you're better of saving ur cash up to buy a better single card.
I got a 5870 1GB in replacement of a faulty 4870X2 and am more than happy with it. If ur pockets are deep enough to buy a £300 card, it's well worth it. Ran the CSS stress test at 1650 x 1080 with exetrthing maxed and got 279 FPS AVERAGE!
