Tf2items works quite well now, you'll find a fair few people willing to trade hat for hat if you scroll down and look for a perfect match.

the thing that I find funny is the fact Valve are actually bothering to police it. They could maybe put a little effort into it, but to disable accounts which most people have between 10-20 games on, is just plain retarded IMO.

You can't trade stuff you paid money for in the shop ect.. and anything else you trade and regret is your own stupid fault. As Cruel said, you both have to agree before the trade goes off.

tf2items still sucks, they need to add disproportionate offers whether they agree with them or not. That way you can see the retarded offers people are making and not even have to communicate with them. And maybe, just maybe they will realise they are being dumb and lower it.

Its quite scary how many people got their accounts disabled for scamming just because they gave someone an item for free. Ofcourse theyve redone most of those when the people explained the situation to the steam support, but still its quite scary that they can just pull the plug for something like this.

its not a vac ban junta. Your account is disabled, as in your entire steam account, can't even get on your single player. I think it just means valve don't have a clue what to do with these people and are disabling them as a panic solution while they figure out what the hells going on and make up some kind of policy.

Your account will, atm anyway, will most likely get disabled so you won't be able to play any of your games. afaik, Valve are trying to implement other strategies that are a lot less harsh such as removing items from your backpack or banning you from trading.

Since this is such a strong punishment, users who have been complained about constantly by multiple users will most likely get investigated -- The system used isn't automatic so all cases will be looked at by their own merit, so to speak. Valve will not look into single "unfair trades" -- As Cruel and Valentine have stated, as well as others, the tick box in the trading screen is there for a reason: if you're stupid enough to not check the valve of the items before the trade then it's your own fault.

Just to reiterate, constant re offenders are being looked at not single trades.

Indeed. But people can recover their accounts if they have been disabled -- Which isn't true with a VAC Ban. Reading the Fancepunch, SPUF (sp?) and ETF2L forums it would appear that people that have had their accounts disabled can write a support ticket requesting their accounts be reactivated. Although, by the looks of it, recovering an account this way would take one about a week.
