One of the worlds top demomen, Extremer of Epsilon (IDK?) - The div1 winning team Shintaz plays for - got his steam account disabled during an official. Likely to be for being suspected of scamming hats (lol) http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1507224^his forum thread about it^ tbh, I feel for him.. but it's still funny I know for a FACT that all the people posting that they got scammed by him are trolling, comp tf2 can be like that. It's all meant in jest. enjoy

Fascinating mix of sad and pathetic ... and only funny from the outside looking in. PS: Perhaps it would be advisable to add a passage to the server rules discouraging excessive trading spam. (Not that the people it concerns would read server rules, but still)

Its quite scary how many people got their accounts disabled for scamming just because they gave someone an item for free. Ofcourse theyve redone most of those when the people explained the situation to the steam support, but still its quite scary that they can just pull the plug for something like this. Which reminds me, Dibble I want my Shortstop back

Meh, I guess his account got hacked and he's been VAC banned, nothing to do with trading at all. The hats were removed by said hacker. Or the whole thing is an elaborate ruse and he'd been cheating. Note : I don't know the guy, just presenting the possibility.
P.S. Love you Brahm's.

People shouldn't get banned for scamming. Anyone stupid enough to manage to press 2 trade buttons without realising something is wrong deserves to lose their items.

he's not been vac banned
Also, an ENTIRE TEAM was disabled (lagtastic gaming, not one of the worlds top teams by any stretch) for actually scamming. This is getting quite funny

This is one of the areas I think Valve have gone wrong. I wouldn't call myself a casual TF2 player and even I don't know all the hats/weapons and their 'market values', so quite how Johnny PlayonceinawhileSunday is supposed to cope I don't know. As soon as you introduce money into transactions you change things. Gah.

If you don't know the value of stuff, don't trade it and then come back once you do IMHO.
As for promising stuff and not delivering: You have to check a checkbox (which gets unchecked if anyone changes their part of the deal) and click a button.
