I don't understand why there has to be a new game for pretty much the same level over and over again. At least make the layout different or something?

There are more maps, Power. LoL and HoN share a similiar 3v3map and HoN also has a 1v1 map, but both, to be quite honest, suck. Todays MobA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena?) is a genre that fully evolved around 5v5 so its no big surprise that they will use the same map back from old Starcraft DotA.

And one of the reasons why Im so excited for this is HoN allthough being a great game is being run by a crappy company. Riot Games on the other hand is alright and they know how to handle the massive increase in players (the serversplit a few weeks ago really helped alot in this), but then again LoL is nothing but an interpretation of DotA. And now youve got Valve who with the help of games such as TF2 or STEAM itself (hopefully) know how to deal with such hype and playersize. So the signs are good that this will actually work out.

People would whine, there is no doubt that dota2 will have a bad community. It's what you get with these dota type games. People would not accept a new map when they know the current map that has been used since WC3 because there are things to learn such as the juking spots, the fog of war the general positioning. It requires a fine balance to create a game as big as dota2. You can't make new heroes or changes too fast otherwise people would whine they can't keep up and learn everything, but take too long to release a new hero again, the community would again whine. The moba genre is weird, they have the ability to make a new map but they try to replicate the map from dota but the moba popularity seems to be increasing so I am not sure the map needs to be changed, the heroes, items and the general feel is what will make dota2. It will be interesting too see how valve will play this one out.

Im quite interested to see how they will change the appearances of certain heroes, because in DotA they used quite alot of Warcraft personalities such as Kelthuzad or Thrall. They probably wont be allowed to let them look like what belongs to Blizzard, the red orc, Axe I think? Well he looked a bit different from a Warcraft orc (Heres me hoping for a Karthuslike Lich )

Nonetheless, that trailer just made me so hyped. Atleast the shopkeeper isnt an annoying old goblin ("AAAAAWWWWWWWWWWW ITS YOU AGEEEN. WHAT CAN I INTEREFFFT YOU EEEN??")
