WingspanTT (him of Golden Wrench and actually honest spy video tutorial fame) has run through each of the new items in his inimitable style. Handy if you like good analysis with a nice bit of humour. His run down of Your Eternal Reward is spot on: the loss of manual disguising comes with a very large number of drawbacks.
-Taking out a Sentry is a chore, and taking out multiple Sentries is impossible
-While this is mitigated after 1 kill is obtained, there is little margin for error
-Your first kill must be on a complete isolated, completely distracted enemy
- Unfortunately, these two attributes are often mutually exclusive
- You cannot use friendly disguises at all (except via a singular glitch)
-This also makes tactical Dead Ringer use more difficult
- Once the enemy has been alerted to your disguise, you can't change it at will
- You will often be forced to disguise as slow-moving or obvious giveaway classes
While these drawbacks are largely counterbalanced by Your Eternal Reward's ridiculously slick draw animation, there are other perks.
- You can backstab enemies directly in front of Sentries once initially disguised
- Unless enemies are paying complete attention to you, they will have little/no clue what's going on
- Your chain stabs will no longer be punctuated with the terror-filled screams of your victims |

There is no reason not to use the Degreaser. The ability to switch between weapons (all weapons) in what seems like negative 0.5 seconds is a huge boon.
The standard "Puff and Sting" flame/Axtinguisher combo no longer requires an airblast at all. You could easily tap the Degreaser, switch weapons, and have the Axtinguisher out the milisecond the enemy fire animation starts.
You can basically Axtinguish people before they even realize they're on fire Saw this from the beggining - the main problem you get in the axtinguisher playstyle is that slight delay between the ignition of the target and getting the axe out. It's basically what made heavy's hard to kill. I seriously hope this badboy isn't nerfed before xmas as I will literally go ape-shit on every server I can find with it. |

His stuff on the YER makes it look pretty useless. The only advantage is that if you're pro enough at killing people without disguise, you'd have significantly less to be worried about as a spy in general.

That. Scouts always owned 1v1; with milk + 150hp + 4 rapid fire shots with small reload = groups go down. |

Interesting that the "YER" may have no kill announcements in a future update.. making it very stealthy and deadly! I do wonder that the dead-talk setting on server 1 would hinder most YER spies... maybe this is something we as a clan would want to re-consider? |
